Abstract
INTROCUCTION: Unwanted pregnancy is one that is not wanted at all; at that time or in the future (1)(2).
OBJETIVE: Identify the frequency and characteristics related to unwanted pregnancy in adolescents attending the obstetrics service of the Hospital "Vicente Corral Moscoso", 2018.
METHODOLOGY: A descriptive study was carried out in the Obstetrics Department of the Hospital "Vicente Corral Moscoso" in the city of Cuenca, 2018. The sample of 311 adolescents in postpartum. The data were collected through surveys and the data related to violence was taken from the clinical history. For the tabulation the statistical program SPSS was used and for the analysis descriptive statistics was used.
RESULTS: The frequency of unwanted pregnancy in adolescents was 22.8%. The majority of them were 19 years old (26.8%) and began their sexual life between 15 and 17 years old, finished only the school (62%) and had an unpaid job (90.1%), half of them considered aborting (53.3%), for a significant percentage this was their first pregnancy (82.1%), they received lessons on contraception (77.5%), however, they did not apply them (63.4%). They consumed alcohol and drugs prior to pregnancy by 28.1% and 8.4% respectively. 4.2% reported being a victim of sexual violence

INTRODUCCIÓN: El embarazo no deseado es aquel que no se quiere en absoluto; en ese momento o en el futuro (1)(2).
OBJETIVO: Identificar la frecuencia y las características relacionadas con el embarazo no deseado en adolescentes que acuden al servicio de Obstetricia del Hospital “Vicente Corral Moscoso”, 2018.
METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en el servicio de Obstetricia del Hospital “Vicente Corral Moscoso” de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2018. La muestra fue de 311 adolescentes en posparto. Los datos fueron recopilados mediante encuestas y el dato relacionado a violencia fue tomado de la historia clínica. Para la tabulación se utilizó el programa estadístico SPSS y para el análisis se usó la estadística descriptiva.
RESULTADOS: La frecuencia del embarazo no deseado en adolescentes fue del 22,8%. La mayoría de ellas tenía 19 años (26,8%) e inició su vida sexual entre los 15 y 17 años, concluyó solo la escuela (62%) y tenía un trabajo no remunerado (90,1%), la mitad pensó en abortar (53,3%), un porcentaje importante eran primigestas (82,1%), recibieron talleres sobre anticoncepción (77,5%), sin embargo, no los aplicaron (63,4%). Consumieron alcohol y drogas previo al embarazo un 28.1% y 8.4% respectivamente. El 4,2% reportó ser víctima de violencia sexual.
CONCLUSIONES: La cuarta parte de las adolescentes encuestadas tuvieron embarazos no deseados, la gran mayoría se caracterizaban principalmente por tener un trabajo no remunerado y haber completado únicamente la primaria. La mitad de ellas consideró abortar en algún momento
