Evaluación general de la operación y mantenimiento del sistema de agua potable de Pucaraloma en la parroquia Victoria del Portete desde la captación hasta el tanque de almacenamiento

Abstract

In general, rural potable water supply systems don’t have a specific operation and maintenance manual, so that it is adapted to the characteristics of each system, for this reason, there is no systematic control of the activities carried out, which can contribute to the rapid deterioration of system components affecting the quality of service. For this reason, the rural drinking water system of Pucaraloma, located in the Victoria del Portete parish of the Cuenca Canton, has been selected, where the current state of the components was inspected from the catchments to the storage tanks, in addition, the cadastre of the system was obtained of the system provided by the Municipal Public Telecommunications, Potable Water and Sewerage Company of Cuenca (ETAPA EP) and through interviews with the personnel responsible of operation and maintenance, information was compiled on the activities carried out. Physical-chemical analyzes have also been carried out on the water from the catchments and drinking water to determine the quality of the water. Based on this information, a general evaluation of this system was carried out, which has allowed the elaboration of a specific manual for this system.
