Mendicidad en Cuenca-Ecuador en la actualidad: representación fotográfica contemporánea

Abstract

This degree work addresses the issue of begging in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador, as a social fact. Art is proposed as a tool to make citizens aware of the need to create or apply policies on this subject and to seek solutions that manage to deal with this phenomenon. The following research work is focused on examining the current problem of begging, for which an approach was made from different perspectives, using various investigative techniques such as interviews, among others. In addition, a photographic record was made throughout the investigation, maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. With the material obtained, different types of materials were experimented with as supports until reaching the final work. In this way, the final work was exhibited to the general public, with the idea of highlighting these faces of begging and their reality.
