Abstract
This degree work addresses the issue of begging in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador, as a social
fact. Art is proposed as a tool to make citizens aware of the need to create or apply policies
on this subject and to seek solutions that manage to deal with this phenomenon.
The following research work is focused on examining the current problem of begging, for
which an approach was made from different perspectives, using various investigative
techniques such as interviews, among others.
In addition, a photographic record was made throughout the investigation, maintaining a
contemporary aesthetic. With the material obtained, different types of materials were
experimented with as supports until reaching the final work. In this way, the final work
was exhibited to the general public, with the idea of highlighting these faces of begging
and their reality.
Resumen
Este trabajo de titulación aborda el tema de la mendicidad en la ciudad de Cuenca-Ecuador, como un hecho social. Se propone al arte como herramienta para concientizar a
la ciudadanía sobre la necesidad de la creación o aplicación de políticas sobre esta temática
y que se busque llegar a soluciones que logren afrontar este fenómeno.
El siguiente trabajo de investigación se encuentra enfocado en examinar la
problemática en la actualidad sobre la mendicidad, para lo cual se realizó un acercamiento
desde diversas perspectivas, empelando diversas técnicas investigativas como la entrevista
entre otros.
Además, se realizó un registro fotográfico a lo largo de la investigación, manteniendo
una estética contemporánea. Con el material obtenido se experimentó con diferentes tipos
de materiales como soportes hasta llegar a la concreción de obra final. De esta forma, la
obra final fue expuesta al público en general, con la idea de resaltar estos rostros de la
mendicidad y su realidad.
