Revitalización del paisaje urbano del barrio “La Atarazana” Guayaquil - Ecuador

Abstract

This work contains an analysis of the current urban landscape of the neighborhood “La Atarazana”, understanding that the landscape constitutes a fundamental element in the welfare of the citizens. The neighborhood “La Atarazana” has suffered drastic changes in its socio-spatial structure and currently there are problems of abandonment of public spaces, because they have become sites that generate insecurity. This has caused that these spaces are not being used by the residents, also affecting their community life and preventing the strengthening of social cohesion among the residents. Therefore, for the recovery of the urban landscape of the neighborhood, an investigation of the current situation of the sector has been carried out, that means its physical environment with its objective components. An analysis of the subjective components has also been carried out, that means those urban elements that are part of the image of the neighborhood and how they are perceived through the senses. Subsequently the assessment of the components that are part of the Urban Landscape was carried out. Through the diagnosis, the strengths and weaknesses of the sector were determined, which allowed us to establish the general lines of action for the Revitalization of the urban landscape of the neighborhood “La Atarazana”.
