Anteproyecto arquitectónico y evaluación estructural para la ampliación de la tercera planta de la Unidad Educativa Fray Vicente Solano del Cantón Cuenca

Abstract

The project uses the Fray Vicente Solano Educational Unit in Cuenca, Ecuador, as a research model to create evaluations. The process of analyzing a building involves several steps: architectural studies, the use of non-destructive testing, the creation of BIM models, and the application of SAP 2000 software. There is high uncertainty regarding the building's performance and a clear lack of seismic resistance at the design level. The study will examine seismic behavior and assess the vulnerability of the buildings to identify high-risk areas and determine better usage conditions.Additionally, the project includes the analysis and evaluation of the architectural design carried out at the Fray Vicente Solano Educational Unit, with particular focus on structures located on the first and third floors, where an auditorium and classrooms were developed, respectively. The primary objective of this study is to examine the efficiency and functionality of these spaces in the educational context, considering key aspects such as spatial distribution, lighting, and accessibility. Through a methodology that combines direct observation and plan analysis, the study aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of how architectural design influences the teaching and learning experience in this educational institution.The findings and conclusions of this research will not only provide valuable insights for the continuous improvement of the Fray Vicente Solano Educational Unit but also serve as a reference for future architectural projects in similar educational settings.
