Anteproyecto arquitectónico del nuevo colegio de bachillerato técnico Daniel Córdova Toral

Abstract

The Daniel Córdova Toral School is a prominent institution in the city of Cuenca, recognized for its diverse offer of programs and careers that be- nefit the community. However, its growing demand for students and rapid occupational growth, added to the need for spaces properly equipped by specialized machinery for technical careers, have generated an irregular development in terms of infrastructure. Improvised and reduced spaces have been a constant in the institution, which has led to urban obsolescence due to its location, limiting its free growth and poor integration with the city’s historic environment. In order to address these challenges, an architectural blueprint for a com- pletely restructured new technical college is proposed. This project, based on the studies studied, complies with the requirements and regulations of an institution of this type, while integrating harmoniously with the urban con- text. To achieve this, various analysis methods were used to understand the functionality of the equipment and a field study was carried out on the cu- rrent site with approaches to what is currently located and with direct users, in order to develop a preliminary project that satisfies all the requirements and is executed effectively.
