Estrategias paisajísticas para el tratamiento de bordes de ríos en entornos urbanos caso río Tomebamba

Abstract

The research carried out a graphic study of the Tomebamba River current state and its relationship with the city of Cuenca in order to determine landscape strategies that improve the environmental functions of rivers in urban areas. An analysis of the natural and urban system maps was developed as elements of a single system that affect each other. The map analysis translates the information from different fields of study into a single graphic language allowing to objectively understand the relationships between the elements. For a better understanding of the relationship that the city has with the river and its consequences, cross sections are analyzed that show all the membranes that build the surface of the study area, allowing to determine 6 Units of analysis with specific characteristics of relationship between these two elements. The final result synthesizes graphically specific landscape strategies for each unit of analysis, improving the natural functions of the river in an anthropic context.
