Prevalencia y relación entre los factores socioeconómicos de las enfermedades diarreicas agudas (eda) en niños menores de 5 años, Azogues 2017

Abstract

Background: Acute diarrheal disease (ADD) is the evacuation of feces in large quantities and in a liquid state, usually occurring in a greater number of three evacuations for 24 hours and are produced in a high percentage by virus. General Objective: to determine the prevalence and relationship between the socioeconomic factors of acute diarrheal diseases (ADD) in children under 5 years old, Azogues.2017. Methodology: a quantitative, retrospective study was carried out between October 2016 and February 2017, with a cross-sectional and analytical analysis. The parents of 80 children attending the Children's Centers corresponding to the Universe were worked on. The instrument that was used was taken from Ordoñez and Villa from his study entitled "Factors that influence the acute diarrheal syndrome". The data was tabulated in SPSS 23 and Excel, which facilitated its analysis and interpretation. Results: the average age of the parents of the children is between 20-30 years, 48.8% of the respondents have a secondary level of education, 25% have finished the first one; in relation to breastfeeding time it is at a maximum average of 15 months. On the other hand, 13.8% of the population is supplied with piped water, 91% can identify the presence of diarrhea. The prevalence of EDA of 23.1% has been demonstrated. Conclusions: the research hypothesis is rejected since there is no relationship between socioeconomic factors and the prevalence of EDA.
