Conocimientos y práctica del autoexamen testicular en los adolescentes del Colegio César Dávila Andrade, 2017

Abstract

BACKGROUND the sexuality is part of the normal life of the human being; a parameter that determines the quality of life of a person, considering that some adolescents may suffer from diseases that compromise the testicles, which generates the need to know the degree of knowledge and the practice that the adolescent of the testicular self-examination. GENERAL OBJECTIVE To identify the level of knowledge and practice of testicular self-examination in adolescents of the Colegio César Dávila Andrade, Cuenca 2017 METHODOLOGY It is a research of quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach, with a universe made up of 238 male students, of whom 195 signed consent and informed consent, being this the population that was used for the study. The technique used was a survey, the instrument was elaborated by the authors and a pilot test was applied for the validation of the same one. Data analysis was performed using bars, cakes. SPS version 15 was used and Excel and Word software were used. RESULTS Half of the population studied were between 17 and 18 years of age, more than a quarter lived in the urban area and predominated those who attended the third year of high school. A low knowledge of testicular self-examination was determined by adolescents, more than 4/5 of the sample did not know the importance of self-examination, and only one-fifth had testicular self-examination at least once
