Abstract

The work describes how the religious festival takes place in honor of the patron saint of the San Fernando canton, which belongs to the Province of Azuay. This celebration is in charge of a family with the surname Loja, who have created an organizing committee. In addition, it is intended to conduct research about the creation history of the main church. The investigation will relate the main moments of the party, which have become traditions, which are part of the culture and identity of the inhabitants. Also inquire about the possible origins of the celebration, on the other hand, the main church of the canton, is a patrimonial, spiritual and religious symbol for your community, in this aspect will be investigated to know the facts concerning its history of creation. Documentation of the patron's party of the year 2016 is performed, as well as the search for information from qualified and reliable sources, to also know the history of creation of the church of San Fernando. The proposed research is done by the lack of previous work, which addresses the proposed topics. Finally, in the development of the work we find an inconvenience, which has to do with the danger that the festival runs to the patron San Fernando, to disappear, to centralize the celebration in the hands of a single family of the canton and not have the help of the community, governmental entities or ecclesiastical authorities, in this area propose possible solutions to the problem.
