Obra visual contemporánea para la recuperación y transmisión de la cosmovisión del ciclo de vida humano presente en rituales Cañaris

Abstract

The Cuchunchi, the Rutuchi and the Pichkay are rituals that belong to the Cañari culture of Ecuador, increasingly threatened by the social distancing towards the ancestral brought about by new global social practices. Faced with this problem, the work The Chaupi Runa and the Cañari life cycle has the purpose of contributing to recovering, preserving and transmitting the Cañari worldview around the life cycle present in the rituals already mentioned, through its insertion into the domains of current Visual Culture. To this end, a contemporary sculptural visual proposal is used that encourages the viewer's visual journey through three clay pots in which the three rituals in question are represented. Cañari life does not begin only with the birth of the being, but with the integration of the individual into the community and work life; It is worth saying that it begins with learning practices to work the land, thus creating an environment of solidarity that seeks common well-being. Then, the individual chooses love and commits to its responsibilities to create a new family, being of great importance to transmit knowledge and values about work in the community. Tragically, the individual's life ends with his death, but he does not abandon the plane of existence in solitude, but is accompanied by the family he formed, saying goodbye to the loved one, among memories and past sayings that now generate nostalgia and sadness. The aesthetic experience is built from the intrigue that fosters a moment of communion and reflection on human values inherited ancestrally.
