Abstract

Background: cervical cancer is one of the main causes of mortality inwomendespite being a highly preventable disease through vaccination. Ecuador isrankedseventh among the countries with the highest prevalence of cervical cancer inSouth America. Training is essential, especially in rural women for the prevention, diagnosis and early treatment of this pathology. Objectives: to identifytheknowledge, attitudes and practices on the prevention of cervical cancer that women have in the community of Quillopungo of the parish of El Valle inCuenca. Methods: descriptive study, consisting of a female sample of 188. Thosewhoweresurveyed to find knowledge, attitudes and practices about cervical cancer. Thesurveys were processed in the SPSS statistical programversion24. Thestatisticians used were fashion, mean, standard deviation and medianfor agevariable. Results: The predominant age group was 25-29 years (20.7%), with42.6% complete secondary education; single women in 50%and in occupationsas domestic helpers and farmers in 47.9% of cases. Knowledgewaspredominantly low (35.10%) and training was insufficient in 72.9%. Whileattitudeswere mainly regular in 73.4%. Conclusions: With fairly low knowledge about thistypeof cancer, with markedly insufficient practices and regular attitudes.
