Abstract
The article presents the results obtained from the analysis of the testimonies generated by
foreign tourists, in the visiting books of the Museum of Aboriginal Cultures and the in Museum of
History of Medicine during the year 2016. Based on these testimonies, it was established the
impression that the foreign tourists gathered on the importance of the collections and the
knowledge that they declared to have obtained after their visit. The analysis established that
foreign tourists especially appreciated the preservation work in the two museums and
emphasized that the experience enriched their knowledge about the history and culture of
Ecuador.

El artículo presenta los resultados del análisis de los testimonios generados por los turistas
extranjeros, en los libros de visitas del Museo de las Culturas Aborígenes y del Museo Historia
de la Medicina Guillermo Aguilar Maldonado, en la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador durante el año
2016. Con base a dichos testimonios se estableció la impresión que los turistas extranjeros se
llevaron sobre la importancia de las colecciones y el conocimiento que declararon haber
obtenido por realizar su visita. El análisis estableció que los turistas extranjeros apreciaron
sobre todo el trabajo de preservación en los dos museos y resaltaron que la experiencia
enriqueció su conocimiento sobre la historia y cultura del Ecuador.
