Item Implementación de un invernadero con sistema automatizado para el control de riego, clima y abastecimiento hídrico, en bancales elevados dentro de “La Huerta” del Campus Balzay de la Universidad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-21) Quiridumbay Picón, Paula Michelle; Mancera Montalván, Pablo Walter; Piedra Campoverde, Santiago Andrés; Guiñansaca Albarrazin, Alexis Danilo; Abril Rivera, Raúl AlfredoThe present project was carried out in the province of Azuay, in the city of Cuenca, and aims to implement an automated greenhouse in "La Huerta" at the Balzay Campus of the University of Cuenca. This system integrates Arduino-based technology to efficiently manage drip irrigation, climate control, and water supply, using a storage tank as the water source. The system is designed to support a medium-scale area containing three elevated planting beds designated for cultivating low-production crops. By integrating sensors and actuators, the system enables precise monitoring and control of critical variables, such as soil moisture and ambient temperature, which vary depending on the type of crop, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity. Through programmed algorithms, irrigation cycles are automated, and resources such as water and energy are optimized, ensuring sustainable space management. The initiative also seeks to promote sustainability and serve as a replicable model for other rural and urban environments.Item Rehabilitación de módulos del sistema CIM del laboratorio de máquinas y potencia de Ingeniería Eléctrica de la Universidad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-08) Tinizhañay Beltrán, Freddy Alejandro; Romero Quezada, Erick Alejandro; Mejía Lojano, Juan Sebastián; Abril Rivera, Raúl AlfredoThe rehabilitation of the modules of the CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) system of the machinery and power laboratory of Electrical Engineering at the University of Cuenca is presented as a fundamental project to improve the academic and practical training of students. This work seeks to update and optimize the existing modules, incorporating modern technologies that facilitate more effective learning and aligned with the demands of today's labor market. The main objective of this rehabilitation is to achieve functionality and efficiency of the CIM system, allowing students to acquire competencies in the integration of industrial processes, automatic control and resource management. The methodology includes a thorough diagnosis of the current state of the modules, followed by the implementation of technical and technological improvements. Tools such as simulators and specialized software will be used to allow a better understanding of industrial processes. Among the specific activities to be carried out are the technical evaluation, which consists of the analysis of the current state of the modules, identifying failures and areas for improvement, and the technological upgrade, which involves the integration of new components and software that meet the current needs of the industrial sector.Item Construcción de un tablero de prácticas electroneumáticas de laboratorio para el fortalecimiento del desarrollo de prácticas de la asignatura “Sistemas eléctricos neumáticos e hidráulicos” de la carrera de Automatización e Instrumentación de la Universidad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-08) Morales Guaillas, Franklin Patricio; Quito Quito, Fabián Mateo; Sanmartín Bueno, Christian Xavier; Montesdeoca Avila, Welington Fabricio; Llivicura Ávila, John EduardoThe main objective of this project is to develop an electropneumatic board intended to facilitate the performance of various practices in an educational environment of technical and technological training. This board will serve as a test bench that will allow students to strengthen the practice, operation and correct use of electropneumatic systems. Likewise, students will be able to actively experience the principles and techniques of these systems, which is essential for their practical training. The project not only seeks to improve students' theoretical understanding, but also to foster practical skills and solve real problems that may arise in the management of electropneumatic systems. In this sense, by building the board for the performance of practices, students will be able to develop key skills that will be very useful in their future professional life. In addition, the board will facilitate the demonstration of complex concepts addressed in theory. This will significantly contribute to the quality of teaching and active learning, making classes more participatory, comprehensive and with a high practical percentage, necessary at the vocational training level.Item Construcción de un tablero eléctrico de prácticas para las materias de Automatización e Instrumentación Industrial de la Unidad Académica de Formación Técnica y Tecnológica “Salvador Allende” - UCUENCATEC -(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-07) Otavalo Villa, Bryan Paul; Belduma Benalcázar, Ismael Sebastián; Ramírez Sari, Pablo David; Llivicura Ávila, John EduardoThe objective of this project is the creation of an electrical practice board for the laboratory of the Automation and Instrumentation degree at the University of Cuenca. A fundamental problem was identified within the institution which is the lack of tools for the practices of UCUENCATEC students. This lack not only limits theoretical learning but also prevents the development of practical skills essential for their professional and technical training, affecting their performance and comprehensive understanding of practices related to electricity. Based on the above, the construction of an electrical practice board is proposed that satisfies the teaching and learning needs in the subjects of Instrumentation and Industrial Automation. This resource will allow students to develop both theoretical and practical skills, crucial for their preparation and future performance in the industry. This will improve your preparation by combining the theory part with the combination of the practical part in a controlled environment.
