The work carried out will also serve as a guide for carrying out the tests of the digital relays. It presents the guidelines for making the test templates according to the relays installed and the protection functions that are activated to protect the elements of the power plantItem Actualización y coordinación de las funciones de protección de las Centrales Saucay, Saymirín, El Descanso y Ocaña(2016) Astudillo Calle, Jorge Eduardo; Pinos Narváez, Wilson Stalin; Quizhpe Huiracocha, Kléver LeonardoThis present study develops a proposal to upgrade protection functions of various Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED’s) with digital technology, which protect generators and transformers of Saucay, Saymirin, El Descanso and Ocaña power plants belonging to Elecaustro S.A. Also a proposal to activate new protection functions is made, especially on Saucay, Saymirin III, IV and El Descanso plants, where electromechanical relays were replaced by IED’s in the past. To know which protection function needs to be updated or activated, it is carried out a comparison between the recommended protection functions by the standards: IEEE Std C37.102-2006 for AC generator protection, IEEE Std C37.91-2008 for transformer protection and the protection functions that currently have the installed IED’s. Also a new proposal for coordination of overcurrent functions that protect generators, transformers and transmission lines is performed, considering that all plants belonging to Elecaustro S.A are embedded in the 69kV subtransmission system belonging to EERCS. Finally, with the help of the software DIgSILENT PowerFactory, various failures are simulated at different points of the grid to make a contrast between existing and proposed trip times.Item Administración del mantenimiento en sistemas de distribución(1993) Castillo Escandón, Raúl; Salamea Bravo, Sergio; León Córdova, Pedro AlejandroItem Adquisición de datos de las variables de los procesos de la planta de fuerza del molino papelero CARTOPEL(2011) Guamán Sánchez, Cristian Fernando; Bravo Padilla, Eddy Gabriel; Larco Barros, Ciro MauricioItem Alternativas de evaluación de potencia y energía de la Central Hidroeléctrica Saymirín de la Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centro Sur C.A.(1989) Vélez U., Juanito; Chérrez V., Galo; Borrero Vega, Antonio JoséItem Alternativas de expansión del área de cobertura de la Subestación 14 Léntag(2019-10-22) Estrella Nieto, Christian Fernando; Salgado Rodríguez, Modesto EnriqueThe purpose of this work is to evaluate various alternatives for the expansion of the sub transmission system in the southern zone of the province of Azuay, served by the Léntag substation, due to the entry of important charges for mining concessions that will come into operation in the sectors of Rio Blanco, Loma Larga and San Gerardo. For the spatial projection of the demand the methodology of micro areas is used which allows to determine the quantity of new clients and where they will be located, as a result a map of preferences for the different categories of consumption is obtained, to later convert these preferences in electrical demand obtaining a map of spatial projection of the demand for the area of study. With the projection study and the demand values of the mining projects, different options for the supply of electrical energy are evaluated evaluating technical and economic aspects, considering the implementation of infrastructure such as the construction of new substations and sub transmission lines and the evaluation of the distribution system at the 22-kV level with the new loads. The final result is the choice of the most favorable expansion alternative in order to supply electrical energy in compliance with quality standards according to current regulations. The present work proposes alternatives to photovoltaic systems connected to the electrical network to solve the problems of electrical power quality in the San José de Taisha Hospital, located in the Taisha canton. The Energy Quality analysis was performed in the hospital center, taking into account the ARCONEL regulation No. 005/18 section 5.1.1 product quality. The project is based on the search for viability at the pre-feasibility level of the technical application of a photovoltaic system as a solution to the energy quality problems that the hospital center presents. Therefore, a photovoltaic generation system is dimensioned based on the ARCONEL Regulation No. 003-18, called photovoltaic generation for selfsufficiency of final consumers of electric energy; several technical alternatives are presented for the dimensioning of the photovoltaic generation system. For the analysis of the photovoltaic potential at the site, a data collection circuit was designed consisting of a Raspberry pi three single-board computer and a solar radiation sensor.Item Análisis de calidad de energía eléctrica en la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Cuenca(2019-04-30) Gómez Orellana, Jaime Marcelo; Astudillo Salinas, Patricio AlcidesThe quality of electric power is an issue of importance for the development of the economy, the industry, where it is necessary to have an electrical service that does not generate damage in sensitive equipment that does not tolerate fluctuations. In this context, high-performance conductors (HTLS) emerge as a viable alternative to conventional ones, as they allow operation at higher temperatures without compromising mechanical stability or operational safety. This thesis evaluates the incorporation of HTLS conductors in power system expansion through a comparative technical-economic approach using three representative test systems. To solve the expansion planning problem, a metaheuristic was implemented in combination with an AC optimal power flow model using MATPOWER. The selection of candidate lines was based on technical and economic criteria, and scenarios with different cost proportions for HTLS conductors were analyzed to assess the feasibility of their implementation and the potential advantages they could bring to the grid, such as reducing investment costs or increasing system loadability.Item Análisis de confiabilidad del sistema de distribución de la Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centrosur C.A.(2012) Zaruma Villamarín, Jorge Luis; Blacio Loaiza, Diego Armando; Salgado Rodríguez, Modesto Enrique; Avila, RamiroItem Análisis de disturbios de tensión en la compañía Ecuatoriana del Caucho(1993) Méndez M., Miguel; Arias M., Germán; Viteri Salazar, HugoItem Análisis de eficiencia energética de la granja Irquis de la Universidad de Cuenca(2017) Idrovo Acevedo, Pablo Javier; Romero Pacheco, Milton Ramiro; Sanango Fernández, Juan BautistaAt present, energy audits linked to the electric power systems, allow to improve the competitiveness of the production of goods and services, in industries, companies, commerce, public institutions, etc. Improving processes reduces costs by allowing a system to be efficient in its consumption of electrical energy.
