The Attention and Rehabilitation Center for Older Adults (CAAM) of the IESS in the city of Cuenca is a space that provides biopsychosocial care exclusively to older adults, in order to promote active aging and a better quality of life, however, different facilities of the Center are in poor condition and are not adapted to the needs of this population. Therefore, the objective of this proposal was an interior redesign in the care and rehabilitation areas of the CAAM, based on universal design to contribute to the comfort of retirees. The methodology used was through the Bruce Archer model, considering international and national references, which led to the use of japandi and contemporary styles with warm and cold colors, and furniture ergonomically adapted to the needs of users. In conclusion, this redesign proposal considers functional and aesthetic aspects based on the principles of universal design, and adapted to the needs of the elderly, providing integral spaces that generate well-being for this population.
