Item Formulación bioinsecticida a partir del aceite esencial de ambrosia arborescens mill (altamisa) de aplicación canina(2016) Mendoza Alvarado, Felipe Sebastián; Cazar Ramírez, María ElenaThe aim of the present work was to replace the use of synthetic insecticides in the formulation of a bio-insecticide dog shampoo. For this purpose we studied the essential oil of Ambrosia arborescens Mill. (Altamisa). The plant material was collected at the shore of Tomebamba River, in the surroundings of Balzay Campus, Universidad de Cuenca, San Joaquin Parrish. The development of the product was performed at the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Chemical Sciences Faculty, Universidad de Cuenca. The essential oil was extracted by hydrodistillation in a Clevenger type apparatus. The yield obtained was 0.14%. LD50 was tested by means of an “in vitro” test against the nematode Panagrellus redivirus. The essential oil displayed a LD50 of 250 L/mL). Due to the modest results regarding extraction yield and LD50 we obtained an organic extract from aerial parts of A. arborescens. The extraction with methanol produced significantly better results (yield of 2%, LD50 31,25 L/mL. Furthermore, the extract was tested in dog fleas (Ctenocephalides canis). In this test the extract displayed 100% effectivity at a concentration of 46,875 mg/mL at the shortest action time. The methanolic extract of A. arborescens displayed the highest biocide activity, compared with the essential oil. This active substance is promising for bioinsecticide formulations for pets.Item Proceso de fabricación de té de cáscaras de cítricos(2007) Arias Astudillo, Marcos; Zalamea Piedra, Teresa Silvana
