Item Actitudes de los adolescentes hacia la diversidad sexual(2017) Rivera Márquez, Holger Filomón; Palacios Cordero, Mireya del PilarThe present research deals with the attitudes that adolescents of the unified general baccalaureate (BGU) of the particular educative units of the city of Azogues face to the sexual diversity. The sample consisted of students from the baccalaureate of the particular educational units of the city of Azogues "San Diego de Alcalá", "La Providencia", "La Salle" and "Cesar Cordero Moscoso", which were selected through a representative sample of 322 students using the probabilistic procedure by clusters of clusters of men and women between the ages of 13 and 18 belonging to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of the BGU. The study was a quantitative cross-sectional and exploratory study. The instrument was the Spanish survey of attitudes toward sexual diversity (Pichardo et al., 2009), which consists of 16 items that explore the attitudes of adolescents toward sexual diversity. The aim of this research was to identify the attitudes of adolescents toward sexual diversity to analyze them and differentiate them by gender. Results were processed in the SPSS 22 program, percentages were calculated and Chi-square test of homogeneity was used to demonstrate significant differences between male and female adolescents. Most adolescents were found to have liberal homophobic attitudes. It was concluded that it is the male adolescents who are formed in these institutions who have the most rooted in homophobia, since it is observed that attitudes such as mocking, threatening, beating or beating are much more characteristic in them.Item Actitudes de los adolescentes tardíos de la Universidad de Cuenca frente al uso de métodos anticonceptivos(2018) Carrera Idrovo, María Auxiliadora; López Alvarado, Silvia LucíaThe aim of this study was to determine the attitudes of late adolescents at the University of Cuenca, regarding the use of contraceptive methods. For this purpose, a quantitative methodology was applied with a descriptive scope of the phenomenon inquired. The population included students from several careers of the University of Cuenca, who attended the 2016-2017 period, with ages ranging from 18 to 19 years old. The type of sample was probabilistic with proportional allocation and comprised 497 study subjects. The instrument applied consisted of a previously validated scalecalled "Attitude Scale towards Contraceptives" by Kellie Dionne Bryant (1987). By the use of this instrument, demographic data was obtained as well as information regarding the use of contraceptive methods and related attitudes. It has been found that, in most of the heterosexual, unmarried population with a beginning in the sexual relationship that happened in most of the cases before their late adolescence, there is a favorable tendency towards contraception. In addition, links between the age when sexual activity started and the disposition towards contraceptives were found.Item Concepciones de los docentes de los colegios de la ciudad de Cuenca, respecto a la sexualidad y la educación sexual de sus estudiantes: estudio cualitativo(2015) Sarmiento Guaricela, María José; Jerves Hermida, Elena MonserrathIn recent years, government agencies have recognized adolescence as a vulnerable stage in the life of a human being and have emphasized sex education as a protective factor for dealing with adolescent pregnancy, which has become one of the most revelant problems, placing Ecuador with one of the highest rates in Latin America. It has been shown that in the education of Ecuador there is a significant lacking in the classroom and in the approach to sex education, which is why this research is focused on knowing the views of teachers from schools in the city Basin regarding sexuality and sexual education of their adolescent students through a qualitative approach, the information collected through four focus groups with teachers in schools both fiscal and individuals in the city. The results demonstrate the lack of knowledge of sexual and reproductive rights which leads to no practical thereof, generating a significant gap between what documents promulgated by government agencies with what actually happens in the classroom.Item Inteligencias interpersonal e intrapersonal en los estudiantes adolescente tempranos en Cuenca(2010) Tamayo Sigüenza, Lucía Eulalia; Ortiz Ochoa, William AlfredoThis undertaking focuses on views related to the new information on Intelligence we have so far, based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory. This investigation highlights the Interpersonal and Intrapersonal performance of the pre-teen eighth graders in several schools of Cuenca. The heart of our research deals with: a) Teenagers, features and sub-phases, b) Intelligence, implications and notions, c) Multiple Intelligence: Interpersonal & Intrapersonal, attributes and its effect on education; hence emotional intelligence is key to a sound and wholesome development of the teenager. We have aimed for a descriptive analysis, with a quantitative-qualitative outcome, conducting surveys on student counselors and teachers of six secondary schools in Cuenca. We also polled 10% of the grade eight populations of the six schools and examined their personal files. The aftermath of the probe suggests that while traditional intelligences such as Mathematical and Linguistic tend to prevail over the educational context of the city, there are few if any courses of action being taken to encourage Interpersonal & Intrapersonal Intelligence schemes within the classroom, one of the main reasons points to the lack of or little teacher training on the new theoretical approaches, and if they are considered, they will be held as secondary forms of grading rather than teaching skills or strategies themselves.Item Percepciones de masculinidad y feminidad en estudiantes de bachillerato de los colegios Antonio Avila Maldonado y Manuel J Calle de la ciudad de Cuenca(2017) Guamán Arias, Marco Patricio; Rosano Ochoa, Luis SantiagoThe present research had as objective to know the perceptions of masculinity and femininity in the high school students of the schools Antonio Avila Maldonado and Manuel J Calle of the city of Cuenca. It was a non-experimental, exploratory quantitative study involving 600 male and female students between the ages of 15 and 19 years. The instruments used were the scales; "The internalization of gender stereotypes in young people and adolescents" by Patricia Ibarra (2000) and Pilar Colás and Patricia Villaciervos (2007) and "Traits of masculinity and femininity in the population inhabiting the desert of northwest Mexico" . These scales exhibit a corresponding structuring, the first being a composition of 22 questions that allude to the categories body, social behavior, competences and capacities, emotions, affective expression and social responsibility. The following, on the other hand, consists of 106 features that refer to the latent instrumentality, expressiveness and androgyny in personality. The information obtained was processed using the software Microsoft Excel and SPSS Statics 22. The results refer to a remarking of stereotypes especially in the men of 17 and 18 years in the categories affective expression, emotions, competences and abilities, social behavior, positive-negative expressiveness and negative instrumentality. The relationship between negative instrumental traits with body stereotypes, social behavior, competencies and abilities and social responsibility can also be verified. This leads to the conclusion of the ambivalence of gender stereotypes in the context of Cuenca and with it, the predominance of gender violence and sexism in the youth population.Item Percepciones y expectativas de los y las adolescentes sobre la educación sexual que reciben en los colegios de la ciudad de Cuenca(2015) Pineda Sinchi, Rosa Elena; Jerves Hermida, Elena MonserrathThe research work presented entitled "Perceptions and Expectations of adolescents about sex education they receive in the Colleges of the City of Cuenca". Therefore aims to determine the perceptions and expectations of adolescents about Sexual Education. The study involved 446 students belonging to 11 high schools, 5 out of which were public schools, while the other 6 were private institutions. The research was conducted first through a structured questionnaire to determine teenagers’ perceptions concerning Sexual Education imparted in High Schools, their expectations regarding this topic, as well as the relationship between these and the proposed measures given by the Ministry of Education. Sexual education in institutions is being approached through a biologic focus, emphasizing physiological and anatomic changes in human beings, and leaving aside the integral perspective proposed by the Ministry of Education. Moreover, this research work revolves around determining if Sexual Education programs given in Cuenca agree with current standards.
