Item Estrategias de afrontamiento familiar que los padres utilizan ante las pérdidas afectivas de los niños por separación(2016) Montesdeoca Cordero, Noemí Marisol; Peña Guillén, Wilson PatricioEvery day children experience attachment and deprivation within their environments. Parents are the primary figures with whom children form lasting relationships and create bonds that exist for a lifetime. These bonds and these relationships can also be affected through life and especially attachment disorders can occur when children experience a crisis such as parent separation or divorce. The purpose of this qualitative study was to describe the strategies used by parents to help their children cope with loss of affectivity due to parental separation or divorce. Using interviews and opened ended survey questions information was collected from one father and four mothers whose ages ranged from 29 to 52 years of age. The overall findings were that parents helped their children by restructuring their family interaction patterns, by create coping strategies as a result of seeking spiritual, social, and professional help. Lastly, parents reported their children´s sibling bonds as an assertive influence within their family coping strategies.
