Item Análisis de la satisfacción de los usuarios de alojamientos en modalidad Airbnb dentro de la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-25) García Bermeo, Briana Estefanía; González González, Fátima Monserrat; Sánchez Rodas, Lourdes MonserrathThe objective of this study is to analyze the level of satisfaction of the users of the different accommodations in Airbnb mode present in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. For its preparation, a mixed methodology was used, consisting of quantitative and qualitative elements, which were developed in three stages. The first stage consisted of the collection of data derived from two websites: AirDNA and Airbnb. Subsequently, a quantitative analysis of the numerical variables was carried out through descriptive statistical methods and correlations of variables. In the final stage, the comments issued by Airbnb users were analyzed, using a word cloud with the terms that were most frequently presented, as well as an evaluation of the feelings perceived in the different reviews. As a result, the tendency of users to choose accommodations located in central areas and close to the main tourist attractions of the city, among other factors, stands out. The sentiment analysis indicates that 93% of user’s express positive feelings and are willing to use Airbnb services again in the city of Cuenca, on the other hand, 7% of users expressed negative feelings showing their dissatisfaction with the services provided and are not interested in using them again. It has gradually ceased to relate directly to people to replace them with interaction with digital devices, software or applications. Great changes can be evidenced in human relationships, that is why, at present, soft skills take greater importance in various areas, both in the labor field and in social and academic life. These skills refer to personal and social attributes that allow us to interact effectively with others, establish strong relationships, and adapt to different situations. In the labor context, soft skills are highly valued by companies. As the work environment becomes more collaborative and team-oriented, skills such as effective communication, leadership ability, problem solving, empathy, and adaptability are considered critical to career success. These skills enable employees to build positive relationships with co-workers, customers, and superiors, and contribute to the company's growth and productivity. We are in a century of many economic changes, which requires being more competitive, generating new challenges for companies, and in turn, requiring more skills and capabilities from their employees. For the development of this project, it was proposed as the main objective to carry out an analysis of the main soft skills, in employees, of 4-star category hotels in the city of Cuenca, allowing to identify those skills that, within the industry, take greater relevance for an employer and how they help employees to perform in their working life effectively, aiming at the development of the emotional, interpersonal side and interaction within a society. To achieve the purpose, a market study was developed, with the use of surveys applied to employees and the use of interviews aimed at employers, allowing us to know how important soft skills are in the hotel industry and their impact on job performance. Caso: RIONE HOTEL BOUTIQUE, año 2020-2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-08-03) Pintado Mora, María de los Ángeles; Molina Díaz, María AugustaAt present, occupational risks represent a threat to the hotel sector, that is why the importance of this degree work is to encourage companies to establish: manuals of procedures, treatment measures for all their areas in order to standardize the processes to serve as a guide for employees; in order to reduce the impact of omissions or errors due to accidents that may affect the human talent of the company. In the realization of this work, the methodological proposal was developed based on the "Risicar Method", with the purpose of applying the method used; various ways of approach are established, such as: the categorization of eminent risks both in the impact and in their frequency, in addition to the generating agent, cause and effect. They are guidelines that establish the starting point of every risk existing within the company. In the management of occupational risks, conducting an internal audit allows to identify the current situation of the company; which determined the search for the fundamental pillar in the identification of control measures, the departmental area with the highest risk index within the macroprocesses and the treatment measures to be executed. Having the commitment of the Presidency and General Management in this graduation work, created a culture of awareness in the management of occupational risks; the Risicar method is applicable to reduce and control risks throughout the establishment.Item Estudio de factibilidad para la implementación de un glamping como estrategia de diversificación de la oferta de alojamiento en el cantón Girón, provincia del Azuay(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-05-22) Heredia González, Rosa Mabel; Chacón Mesa, Ana María; Sandoval Lozano, Darwin FabiánThe purpose of this titling work is to demonstrate the feasibility of implementing a Glamping that allows the accommodation diversification offer in canton Girón, province of Azuay, for that, an analysis of the environment was carried out, which allowed to identify the characteristics of the place where the project will be developed. To this, a market study is added as to analyze the existing supply and demand, likewise within the planning for data collection, the survey was used as a research approach, which yielded satisfactory results in terms of the acceptance of Glamping implementation. With this, it was possible to establish a technical proposal, which offers the implementation of 4 prefabricated domes, with different size and accommodation capacity, which offer a luxury stay and experience in the middle of nature. Similarly, an economic study was carried out, which allowed to know the financial viability and profitability of the project, of which positive results are evidenced as long as the parameters proposed for financing are met, with the support of a government entity such as the National Finance Corporation (CFN). Finally, it is concluded that the implementation of Glamping under the consideration of the technical and economic parameters evidenced in the present titling work, is feasible, supported by the technical proposal made and the implementation of marketing plans that without being part of the study are necessary as a fundamental sales strategy to achieve the economic objectives set. Technical proposalItem Exploración de la percepción de los empresarios de alojamiento respecto a la conservación del Patrimonio Cultural de la Ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-19) Brito Pandiguana, Erika Daniela; Orellana Brito, Nayeli Lizbeth; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThe objective of this research work is to explore the perceptions of hotel managers and experts in cultural heritage conservation about the preservation of heritage buildings that operate as hotels in the Historic Center of the city of Cuenca. Through a review of various literary sources and the analysis of relevant procedures and regulations, understanding the conservation practices applied to these heritage houses was sought. For this research, a qualitative observational approach was used, with an exploratory-descriptive and cross-sectional scope. Eight interviews were conducted with hotel managers and conservation experts, selected for convenience, in which their perspective on conservation was analyzed. The results show significant challenges, such as the complexity and lack of knowledge about procedures necessary for heritage buildings conservation, as well as the gentrification induced by tourism. However, there is consensus that the hotel industry has contributed positively for the preservation of architectural heritage, through the restoration and continuous maintenance of these buildings. However, paperwork management and gentrification present challenges. The hotel industry has played a crucial role in the conservation of the architectural heritage of the Historic Center of Cuenca, promoting its long-term preservation.Item Plan de mejoramiento de la calidad de los establecimientos de alojamiento Las Iguanas, Son de Mar y Toa Toa en la Comuna Ancestral Isla Balneario de Jambelí, según la Norma ISO 9001 versión 2015(2020-02-11) Guiñansaca Huambo, Jessica Paola; Largo Vargas, Andrea Elizabeth; Webster Coello, César OswaldoIn the Hotel Industry, accommodation establishments must have good quality management in the processes they carry out, which allow to offer a product or service of excellence to satisfy the needs and expectations of the customers, until reaching their loyalty by means of permanent improvement. In the Ancestral Commune “Isla Balneario de Jambelí”, the hotel sector is made up of eleven establishments, from which “Las Iguanas”, “Son de Mar” and “Toa Toa” have decided to analyze the processes they carry out as a way to improve them and offer an excellent level of quality in their services. This is why the present graduation work aims to establish an improvement plan based on the international quality management system standard ISO 901 version 2015, which is based on seven fundamental principles. Therefore, a diagnosis of the establishments was carried out, including general information, services, categorization, and analysis of processes in the front desk and housekeeping departments, surveys of guests during the moths of July and August, and interviews with owners or managers. After collecting this information, improvement strategies and operational processes were created for each establishment to achieve excellence in the quality of services provided to guests.Item Propuesta de un manual operativo hotelero en los centros geriátricos: caso Hogar Cristo Rey en la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-11) Mejía Navarro, Victoria Estefanía; Sánchez Zhagüi, Thalía Alexandra; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelIn the city of Cuenca, there are some geriatric centers that provide services and accommodation to older adults. Many of these centers are private and limit access to the most vulnerable older adults. Geriatric centers, today, are institutions that go unnoticed by the vast majority of people; generally, there are few institutions and private companies that invest in the creation of these centers to try to focus on this population niche and meet their needs. The objective of this work is to incorporate a broader vision into geriatric centers as accommodation establishments and the creation of a hotel operating manual that allows standardizing the various processes in each area and the guidelines that contribute to the improvement of Hogar Cristo Rey. This degree work includes important information on various topics related to hospitality and geriatric centers. In principle, you can visualize the beginnings of hospitality, when and how geriatric centers emerged, and, as well as the MIES Technical Guide, that was used to carry out this thesis project. Finally, the process formats found in chapter 3 are carried out in great detail and based on the needs of the geriatric center, with the sole purpose of making the selected departments of Hogar Cristo Rey more manageable and providing sources of help to the efficient and effective administration of the institution. Therefore, the present work establishes a proposal for a management model for accommodation, applied to the El Ángel social assistance shelter located in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador. The project comprises three chapters; the first refers to the operation of social assistance shelters, as an alternative to hospital accommodation, the second one corresponds to the functions in the administrative and operational areas of the El Ángel hostel and the third proposes an accommodation management model for the same hostel. In order to carry out the research, the methodology was based on semi-structured interviews with the representatives of each area of the establishment; while to know the perception about the satisfaction of the service, semi-structured surveys were applied to a convenience-sample for the users of the hostel. Finally, at the end of the project, a series of strategies were identified for the better management of the establishment, among them are: a new organizational structure, survey of standardized processes, training program and implementation of new services such as psychology and animation. The sustainability that is an essential element in this contribution is based on three fundamental pillars: business, socio-cultural and environmental; these help to reduce negative impacts in each process that is carried out in the tourism and hospitality sector. In this graduation work will analyze the current situation of the Hostal Casa de Lidice, in order to know how they manage its sustainable management; for this, special measures based on the Rainforest Alliance's 2005 Sustainable Tourism Good Practice Guide and Smart Voyager’s 2010 Sustainable Tourism for Land Tourism Operations Certification Program will be applied in order to generate sustainable alternatives that benefit the hostel, the community and the environment of its surroundings. On the other hand, the Hostal Casa de Lidice must benefit from new biosecurity measures due to the outbreak of a new disease that is spread worldwide, for this reason it will be proposed the application of new protocols provided by the Ministry of Tourism and the Emergency Operations Center of the country, in order to create new processes that ensure the health, well-being and safety of all those who are a primary part of the establishment as well as its visitors.
