    Planning, in confrontation with the power of the market, is important because it refers to substantive aspects of the conservation of the built cultural heritage. Cuenca is a city characterized by natural landscape, its rivers, mountains and buildings; vegetation gives an added value to the landscape character and the appearance of new alien species makes this landscape change.

    Las transformaciones en el paisaje generadas por la expansión urbana de Cuenca

    Analysis of the transformations in the landscape generated by the urban expansion of Cuenca, is done through a review of the history of the city for a vision of its future; It will elucidate what did our ancestors in this region, what we are doing in the present, and especially what should we do for the future. In this context, urban expansion and population growth of the city of Cuenca in the last 50 years is analyzed.
