Item El cuidado del adulto mayor en los centros gerontológicos, Cristo Rey y Abuelitos en Acción(2017) Mejía Fajardo, William Patricio; Quito Calle, Jessica VanessaThe present monograph aims to determine the way in which the staff of the gerontological centers attend the elderly, in addition will be given alternatives of training workshops to improve the care of the elderly, for the caregivers as for the families of the aforementioned .The methodology was descriptive and analytical, for which a semi-structured interview was used, in the Christ the King and Grandparents in Action centers, it was applied to the staff who are in charge of the care of the elderly, to identify the way in which they are cared for the elderly in the gerontological centers; to know if the families collaborate with the attentions of the old when they are requested by the gerontological centers; to propose training workshops for staff working in care centers for the elderly. With the results obtained in the interviews applied to the caregivers of the elderly who work in the gerontological centers, it was decided to propose training workshops aimed at the tutors of the elderly, so that they can improve the care they receive they toast.Item Relaciones del adulto mayor en estado de abandono con su entorno familiar(2015) Guamán Uzhca, Diana Fernanda; Guzmán Jiménez, Alfonsina del RocíoThis paper 's main objective is to intervene and prevent the neglect and abuse of the elderly by family members, focusing mainly on the biological changes and ways of how can the family help the elderly to keep them in a healthy life; for instance changes that affect the daily lives of the long-lived and simultaneously affects family members, these changes can be seen as a nuisance in family life, due to poor information and prevention of the changes that are generated in old age. Family members have chosen to evade the care of the elderly, sending them to shelters or leaving them home alone, due to that the possibility of designing intervention workshops for health care and prevention of neglect and abuse to longevity is established; thus strengthening the wellbeing of the family, improve bonding and increase self-esteem for the elderly to opt for new activities and skills that are being lost due to lack of information and stereotypes of society.
