    Metodología para adquisición de tecnología IoT aplicada a ambientes de vida asistida para el adulto mayor

    There are many products and research lines based on the Internet of Things (IoT). Those products allow to improve or preserve the physical and cognitive condition of older adults. Moreover, they lead to the prolongation of users’ independence. In this context, this study proposes a methodology for selecting and acquiring IoT devices that intervene in Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) environments to improve the quality of life of older adults, based on previously identified requirements to be met by IoT devices and environmental constraints. Hence, to achieve this, a systematic literature review (SLR) was carried out. As a result, the multicriteria decision-making technique called Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was identified as the most convenient base methodology for selecting and weighing the selection criteria and the candidate devices. That methodology allows the comparison of quantitative and qualitative criteria of different nature under the same scale. Similarly, a base of selection criteria for IoT devices was consolidated, which, together with the requirements elicited, serve as a guide for the solutions expert to identify and evaluate the candidate alternatives. Finally, a case study was executed for acquiring a fall detection device for older people to evaluate the perception regarding the ease of use, the usefulness, and the intention of future use of the proposed methodology.
