This research work describes the factors that influences students dropouts in the educational units from rural areas of "Gualaceo", also the importance that parents are giving to education, at last know the occupational practice of teenagers.
In the field of research, was applied a survey elaborate by the University of Chile "Andrés Bello”, that we have analyzed and modified according to our needs and in the contextual reality, and reality of the students with their last years of school of Basic General Education and to young teenagers who have already abandoned their education. Also there was an interview to show us personal information which may be the cause, situations that have to do with family, academic and economy of the students.
