Obviously, should be noted that the subject of this article is reflected in its contents through a description and personal appreciation of its author on the method noticeable from the reading of the thesis paper: "Scientific research center for tourism & Museum of Meteorology in San Cristóbal Island, Galapagos province", document cited in the bibliography of this article.Item Revisión de la industrialización de la vivienda y de tres experiencias de sistemas constructivos en Latinoamérica(Universidad de Cuenca, 2012-05) Samaniego, AugustoThis article tries to present, in a synthesized way, a set of variables obtained from an inventory of 123 construction industrialized techniques, prepared by a group of American researchers, listed in the First catalog of industrialized techniques for the low-cost housing in Latin America and the Caribbean with the coordination of the architect Walter Kruk. The variables refer to the extent of the use of industrialized techniques, the kind of techniques, materials, periods of development, the intensity of the investment and the type of labor; which, in general, allow to identify the characteristics of the construction companies that have opted for the path of industrialization. This part concludes with a description of the technological profile of a Latin American company. Finally, to illustrate the main features of the building systems that use industrialized techniques in Latin America it concludes with a brief review of three successful and innovative experiences for low cost housing as the sytems BENO in Argentina, SANDINO in Cuba and SANCOCHO in Venezuela.Item Unidades estructurales y su importancia en la ordenación del territorio ecuatoriano(Universidad de Cuenca, 2012-05) Pauta Calle, Víctor Fernando; Zee, Jaap van derThe objective of this study is to show the conceptual and methodological utility that has the definition of "structural units" in the determination of the reception capacity of the physical environment for human activities, in the framework of the drafting of the territorial organization plans. For this purpose, in the introduction is located as a starting point one of the methodologies proposed by Professor Domingo Gómez Orea and the restrictions presented for that purpose from a more systematic approach. Town and country planning is defined as a context, the methodological process are set out for the elaboration of a land management plan and in particular for the establishment of the capacity of the physical environment and as part of this component, the aforementioned structural units, but also the "environmental units", highlighting the advantages that has in principle to find the latter, following the method of Gómez Orea. Then the structural units are conceptualized and explained how can be defined at different levels of detail. Is then exposed the environmental function of structural units and their difference with the environmental and also its socio-economic function. Finally shown its definition with a specific application. The main result points to the discernment of the reception capacity of the physical environment for human activities becomes more appropriate, rigorous and consequent with its features if it relies on structural units, without prejudice to the subsequent definition, with intentions of analysis and diagnosis of the environmental unit suggested by Gómez Orea in attention to activities that support eventually that medium.Item Proyecto: readecuación del Teatro Carlos Cueva Tamariz(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-02) Universidad de Cuenca; Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo; Unidad de Planificación Física Universidad de CuencaThe University of Cuenca, aware of the current needs of the city for quality public spaces, undertakes the work of readjustment of the theatre Carlos Cueva Tamariz. The article raises the implications of this model for the health and the benefits of the proposed alternative model would produce. Against the previous one, the article proposes a polynuclear and networked model, with compact settlements of different level and size, multifunctional, covering all the space, connected by channels of relationship that provide them similar opportunities of access to centers, science, culture, leisure, etc.Item Lógica clásica y lógica difusa: Facetas que las caracterizan(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-02) Almache Cabrera, JuanAnalysis of bibliographic information, such as methodological process for this article, led to the elaboration of matrices corresponding to each of the facets: logical, relational, epistemic and sets, from classic and diffuse logics. The interrelationship and analysis of different premises constants in these arrays allowed the diversification in the conception of each of them, whereas the classical logic as a science of the formal and regulatory principles of reasoning, which focuses on the logical form of adopting the thoughts to the construction of formal languages with clarity and precision, and diffuse logic as the science of the formal principles of approximate reasoning, flexible and tolerant of imprecision, capable of modeling non-linear problems. In addition, applications of diffuse logic are briefly manifested, among others: control systems and neural networks.Item Expresión gráfica – digital: una perspectiva(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-02) Orellana, BorisThe use of the computer as an effective tool of design in the field of architecture has been subject of discussion for decades. Joint and ordered analysis to establish a proper education, application, research and technological development has given rise to various organizations, as for example the Association for architectural computer-aided design, founded in 1981 and which to date remains one of the most prestigious worldwide institutions.Item Diseño y validación de vivienda bioclimática para la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-02) Cordero, Ximena; Guillén, VanessaThis study of design and validation of bioclimatic housing for the the city of Cuenca has been divided into two sections: In the first part are made known the results of a processing of climatological data of the city, which determines the influence of each of these to its environment. Then its application in the bioclimatic diagram of Givoni will be displayed, and finally we do a brief analysis of other environmental factors influencing the comfort of habitable spaces. In the second part it arises the design of a bioclimatic housing at the level of preliminary, the same that has been evaluated and validated through the use of a software and mathematical calculations, based on national and international standards.Item Cronotopo urbano Cuenca de los Andes(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-02) Jaramillo Medina, CarlosNew readings of historic centres seek alternative methods and approaches to understand their natural, cultural and historical senses. These epistemological efforts want to overcome the positivist visions of the modern paradigm. This paper seeks to understand the historic centre of Cuenca from other perspectives. To achieve this purpose we have consulted several sources postmodern and contemporary, including the suggestive work of Álvaro Niño, called "La Gesta del Signo. Hacia un semanálisis urbano". (The feat of the sign. Toward an urban semanalisis.) This essay is divided into five parts: first of all theoretical and methodological references are presented to address the subject of study; then are exposed archetypes, vectors and urban phenotypes; and finally we raised this hypothesis: the historic centre of Cuenca can be considered an urban chronotope, it means, a natural, urban and architectural alternative of multiple and intertextual interpretation and associations of a Rhizomatic nature.Item La ciudad imaginada Los territorios, lo imaginario y lo simbólico(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-02) Jaramillo Paredes, DiegoThe various approaches that, over time, have been developed and applied to study the urban, have privileged the visible city, the matter, the physical universe; it mean, the city itself such as spatial geographic dimension (the ecology of living) and not the urban as an socio-cultural and anthropological dimension (the culture of living). The analysis of the material conditions of the city while it is necessary, is not sufficient, since the city is also a stage of desires of evocations and dreams of its inhabitants who, on a daily basis and relentless way, are building one or multiple images of her. This article, which is part of a research project on urban imaginaries, deals precisely the reflection on the city understood as a place of cultural event and scenario of an imaginary effect, the symbols on it built by its own inhabitants; that hidden or invisible city which constitutes a complex network of symbols in permanent construction. In this framework, we focus on the notion of territory, conceived as a cultural construction and its relationship with the imaginary and the symbolic. Item Guía para la redacción de especificaciones técnicas particulares para obras civiles(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-10) Rodas Marín, BolívarIn the construction of civil works will continue to commit mistakes which have resulted in constant loss of family heritage, caused by non-observance of standards and codes that have been hardly tried to implement in daily build. Facing this problem, this article proposes the elaboration of a guide for the drafting of specific technical specifications, that has a structure that allows to speed up the process of formulation of documents, unify criteria, procedures, and integrate all components in an specification easy to use by builders and auditors, even by non-specialists. In this way is intended to expand the current context and to serve as a guide or path to the inclusion of new concepts.Item Vivienda unifamiliar contemporánea con atributos modernos en la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-10) Íñiguez Alvarado, María ClaudiaIn the present work was carried out an in-depth analysis about the attributes of modern architecture in order to establish criteria keys for the selection of relevant contemporary homes in the city of Cuenca and thus demonstrate the persistence of these in the current architectural production of our town. Thereby, a concise study on the development of Modernity was carried out throughout its history, to understand under what parameters were developed concepts such as rigour, precision, visual economy, constructive economy, universality and reversibility, establishing a link in the analysis of contemporary, and emblematic works in order to find similarities in their processes of formal construction, developing projects that are logically supported both formal and functional aspects.Item Antecedentes, rol y desafío de la digitalización del patrimonio arquitectónico(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-10) Santana Quintero, MarioNo doubt, the use of digital tools in the documentation of the architectural heritage has revolutionized the way in which historic places are identified, disseminated and virtually valued. However, these new opportunities bring new challenges to guarantee scientific accuracy and the reliability of the information used to document and protect the heritage sites long term and thus to ensure that these records are transmitted and are maintained for future use. This contribution is not only intended to underline the challenges, but also to offer options, taking into account the notion of efficiency requirements and how to capture and disseminate the knowledge the of heritage goods. These objectives will be achieved by taking as starting point the needs of the place from a comprehensive and participatory approach, focused on the importance of the information to understand the meaning and integrity. In this sense, it is essential also to evaluate the radius of deterioration caused by disturbances/threats and potential risks to these cultural resources. In relation to cultural heritage, the emphasis of this work is given to historic buildings and archaeological sites.Item Mampostería postensada una alternativa constructiva para Ecuador y regiones sísmicas(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-10) Zalamea León, Esteban FelipeThis work addresses a central problem of construction in Cuenca, Andean city of the South of the Ecuador, where every day we see that mostly, failure to comply with the provisions of the regulations that govern other countries with similar seismic conditions, so it is visible that the buildings are at serious risk. From this evidence, our research seeks to construct masonry walls post-tensioned with materials, tools and techniques available in the medium, considering that the proposed construction technology and adapted for masonry is already a response in other societies, with the same potential risks.Item Espacio y límites, una relación sinérgica(Universidad de Cuenca, 2014-01) Hidalgo, PatricioThis essay focuses on the analysis and reflection about the presence of the limits into the living spaces, and its components, from the dynamics of their relationships and interactions in the field of complexity. We start from an approach where we position the limit at an intermediate point between the subject who perceives and the multidimensional space, recognizing from this limit its ability to determine the space, conferring particular qualities and features. This problem locates the limits in a highlight point of the spatial configuration, as articulators of sense and carriers of meanings. From this glaze we analyze and describe their characteristics, location, applications, performance, etc.
