Item Optimal distribution network reconfiguration with distributed generation using a genetic algorithm(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2019) Peñaloza Moran, John Eugenio; Yumbla Romero, Jairo Gonzalo; Lopez Quizhpi, Julio Cesar; Padilha Feltrin, AntonioThis paper presents the develop of a computational tool for solve the distribution network reconfiguration problem considering the power losses minimization and distributed generation. The proposed tool satisfies the operational constraints of systems, e.g., voltage limits in nodes and the current capacity of lines. The use of a MINLP and a Genetic Algorithm guarantees convergence to good quality solutions. This is a searching adaptive method - based on natural selection and natural genetic. It improves the solutions in combinatorial problems, in each iteration through their operators (selection, crossover and mutation). 14-Bus, 33-Bus and 69-bus test systems and 880-Bus real system were employed to show the effectiveness and satisfactory results of the proposed tool.Item Reconfiguración óptima del sistema de distribución con generación distribuida de la Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centro Sur C.A.(2018) Peñaloza Morán, John Eugenio; Yumbla Romero, Jairo Gonzalo; López Quizhpi, Julio CésarThe general objective of this work has been develop a computational tool capable to optimize the topology of a distribution system. The tool has the objective function to minimize de active power loss on the feeders; due to this, the voltage profile in each node is improving as well in the system to analyze. The proposed method for the reconfiguration is the genetic algorithms. This metaheuristic; in each iteration, has the characteristic of improve the solutions in combinatorial problems through their operators (crossover, mutation and selection). After carrying out the analysis and testing in IEEE testing systems, the effectiveness of the proposed method can be verified since satisfactory results were obtained with respect to reference documents that are detailed in the development of the work. Also, when carrying out the study for the distribution system of Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centro Sur, topologies with less power losses than the current topologies for each case of study. Finally, we conclude with the comparison of the results obtained in the analyzed systems, demonstrating that, when performing the reconfiguration, there is effectively a reduction of active power losses and therefore improvement in the voltage profiles at the nodes.
