Revisión bibliográfica(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-05-13) Verdugo Illescas, Deysi Paola; Villalva Cabezas, Jessica Margarita; Peñafiel Peñafiel, Marcia BeatrizBiological occupational accidents with sharps devices represent a relevant concern for nursing staff, due to the high prevalence and impact on morbidity and mortality, as a result of the transmission of infectious diseases like Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis and Human Papilloma, caused by the use of needles, syringes, scalpels and other sharp objects, which when handled inappropriately represent a significant risk for such staff, most of these events occur during user care due to direct exposure. The most frequent causes are: lack of training, updating and education on procedures for handling sharps equipment, conditions of the work area and professional and non-professional behavior. Updating knowledge, preventive measures and adequate management of biosafety devices and protocols are the key to reducing the incidence of biological accidents.Item Estudio etnográfico sobre los juegos populares del cantón Cañar en la zona rural de Quilloac, entre los años de 1964 -1984(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-06-22) Verdugo Illescas, Deysi Paola; Neira Escudero, María GabrielaPlay is a natural and spontaneous language in children's lives. It allows them a free expression of emotions, feelings, and interaction with siblings, cousins, friends, and adults. This study attempts to research traditional games in Quilloac, Cañar, where information is limited. However, this topic has been addressed extensively in several countries. Therefore, the motivation to carry out this investigation. In this sense, this document embraces two transversal points. First, it addresses a context through some key terms to understand the importance of popular games. Second, it describes and analyzes the data obtained from interviews and life stories of people from the mentioned community. Altogether, these two parts allow answering the objectives and intended research question. Thus, the inhabitants of the rural area of Quilloac are the protagonists of this study. To obtain information about the cultural dynamics of the games, open and semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect data more flexibly. Through the interviews, it was possible to carry out an ethnographic approach. Also, through this technique, a description of the spaces, music, toys, materials, practices, and other elements of cultural heritage which represent great richness for the community and the region was obtained. To sum up, this research will allow an approach to a very relevant topic for the Quilloac Community.
