To meet this goal we propose the design of a methodology based on self-healing schemes for restoration of service, known by the electric industry as FLISR (Fault Location, Insulator and Service Restoration) through a Predictive Reliability Model (PRM) using historical outage data, distribution feeder models and customer and feeder load data. The study area considers five real distribution feeders, representing around the 15% of the total distribution system. We start from the definition of a customized calibration system model, constantly trying that PRM reflects the historical reliability, as a relevant purpose, using a five year historical outage data and reliability indices (TTIK, FMIK, SAIDI and SAIFI). It´s also important to mention that failure rates and mean times to repair (MTTR) were assigned to the distribution equipment (fuses, breakers, reclosers, etc.). As a next step, we identify a set of reliability improvement projects that need to be implemented, summarize as a new planning criteria, fuse-clearing and fuse-saving overcurrent protection schemes and distribution automation schemes. According to SAIDI final results, we prioritized the execution of the mention projects. Finally, using these final results we have done a cost-benefit analysis, recommending to CENTROSUR a project portfolio to accomplish, in order to better its network reliability metrics, showing the advantages, versatility and potential of the proposed PRM.Item Diseño de esquemas de control integrado de tensión y potencia reactiva del sistema de distribución de la Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centro Sur C. A.(2014) Zhungur Procel, Alexis Omar; Calva Riofrio, Edwin Roberto; Ugalde Delgado, Juan HernandoThis work resents an alternative optimization schemes applied voltage for the integrated voltage control and reactive power (IVVC -Integrated Volt / VAR Control) under the concept of CVR (Conservation Voltage Reduction), in order to manage demand and increase energy efficiency in the distribution system feeders of CENTROSUR. Evaluated the potential benefits of this initiative are: energy saving, reducing the cost of capacity, reduction of CO2 emissions to the environment and loss reduction. A methodological guide for the preparation of information (construction of energy profiles of measuring points and load model), selection of candidates feeders (base case analysis) to quantify the benefits is proposed; supported by the software tool CYME. This analysis is to evaluate the voltage profile in each of the nodes of a feeder for the period of one year. The goal is to strategically place equipment regulation and control (voltage regulators and capacitor banks) to get flatten the profile and move within the ranges allowed by the CONELEC voltage regulator. To achieve this goal is necessary to know the topology of the electric network, perform an analysis of the operation of the network, of the reliability and the protection, and apply them to find the location of the reclosers in the network. Also, it is necessary to study the criteria of N-1 and it is necessary to know the restrictions to execute load transfers between feeders. Later, in this document is described the most important architecture of models of automation, to determinate which is the model that fits the requirements of load transfers. CYMDIST was used to make all the analysis of the present work. Likewise, it emphasizes on the requirements that allowed establishing the feasibility of its implementation in the “Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centrosur”. The project was based on a study case, which allowed a comparison between the company's current project management methodology and Designer, in order to determine the performance of each one of them. The first chapter indicates the approach to the problem and establishes the general objective and the specific objectives, as well as the justification and hypothesis of the present work. The second chapter is related to the theoretical framework that defines concepts such as project management and technical aspects like a georeferenced information systems as well as their application in the electricity distribution sector. The third chapter indicates the methodologies of project management of the main electricity distribution companies in Ecuador, in particular reference to the “Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centrosur”. Then, the fourth chapter reviews the management of electrical designs and the engineering tools that incorporate Designer. The fifth chapter discusses the implementation of the design of a project that was carried out by the company responsible for the project. In the sixth chapter discusses of how to develop a comparative analysis of the information obtained. Because of what was previously said, there is a first need to collect and standardize the best practices related to the preventive maintenance of equipment and primary distribution networks, having an impact on the different quality, reliability and environmental indicators, these being key elements for a correct business management. Along with the lifting of preventive maintenance activities, different methods of work in electrical installations are presented along with safety standards, personnel skills, as well as different considerations to be taken into account for equipment and work tools are disclosed. The variables associated with the activities of preventive maintenance are identified, as well as the main variables associated with the different departments of the company, such as frequency and time of disconnection and, through the development of a dashboard of indicators the information of said activities is presented, which would serve for continuous improvement and timely decision making. The approach of Cymdist to model networks of distribution front of DIgSILENT with an approach a level of control and operation of SEP, conclude in advantages that is the first: the model details of substations and networks seconds with the possibility of references geographically, the implementation of algorithms that are the method of voltage drop in the resolution of the power flow and the load distribution. The great potential that gives Cymdist allowed is modeled half voltage systems and subtransmisión separately; evaluating the traditional system, system was configured so that the integration is performed in few seconds, with feeders automatically connecting to their respective substations.
