    Estrategias de comunicación e inteligencia emocional en padres de familia de la Unidad Educativa Particular Corel en Cuenca en el período 2019-2020

    The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between communication strategies and emotional intelligence in the parents of the Corel private educational unit in the city of Cuenca according to the age, sex and duration of the relationship. The research was quantitative with a non-experimental design and a correlational scope. The sample was selected in a non-probabilistic manner with two types of sampling: for convenience and fees. The estimated population was 120 parents. Of these, a total of 100 people, 44 men and 56 women between the ages of 25 and 65, with an average of 40 years were registered as a sample. The instruments were: The Couple Assertion Questionnaire (ASPA) composed of 40 questions in which the protocols of the four communication strategies will be calculated: assertion, aggression, submission and aggression-passivity is used most frequently; and the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale, Spanish version (WLEIS-S) composed of 4 factors with 16 items that calculate: the assessment and expression of one's emotions, assessment and recognition of emotions in others, regulation of own emotions and use of emotions. The results that, on a general level, parents often use assertion as a communication strategy to respond to conflicts in the relationship. The ability of the IE scale assimilation or use of emotions is the one that is most managed in relation to both genders. Finally, a positive correlation was found between assimilation and assertive communication strategy. This positive correlation can be very useful if assertion is used as a communication strategy, the higher the levels of emotional intelligence that couples present
