Results are presented on parental mediation in the technological use of adolescents aged 12 to 17 in educational institutions in Cuenca-Ecuador. Using a quantitative-descriptive approach and a non-experimental cross-sectional design, 332 parents aged between 29 and 68 participated. The European Kids Online Survey for parents was used. The results show significant differences: mothers tend to be more permissive and use monitoring strategies, while fathers prefer supervision and restrictive techniques. Younger parents adopt more restrictive measures compared to older ones, who are less strict. Additionally, parents with lower educational levels tend to be more permissive, while those with higher education apply technical strategies. These parental characteristics condition the digital mediation exercised over adolescents.
