    Influencia de la danza folclórica en la mejora de la coordinación motriz de estudiantes de cuarto año de EGB en la escuela de educación básica Julio Abad Chica de la ciudad de Cuenca

    Folk dance develops some coordinative, cognitive and social skills in children, it is also part of the cultural or traditional heritage of a society or a culture and it is traditional dances, linked to the identity of the people with their clothing, movements or in the time of year in which it takes place. The objective of this work is to analyze the influence of folk dance on the improvement of motor coordination in fourth-year EGB students at the “Julio Abad Chica” school in the city of Cuenca. The sample was 64 students (Intervention Group 33 and Control Group 31). This work has a quasi-experimental operational design. The results of the study were positive in terms of the improvement in the level of motor coordination with respect to the post-test in the intervention group, taking into account the following statistical data: the control group was superior in terms of the level of motor coordination, however After applying the folk dance program, favorable results were obtained in the intervention group, having an average of 2.58, while the control group only obtained an average of 1.80. in the post test, thus having a mean difference of 0.89. In conclusion, the application of a folk dance program based on the context of Physical Education (PE) is useful to improve the levels of motor coordination in students.
