Explosive strength refers to the body's ability to produce a large amount of force in a short period of time. That is, it is the ability to make quick movements with power. This type of force is essential in activities such as jumping, sprinting, throwing or any action where it is necessary to apply great force in an instant. The main objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of a plyometric training plan on the explosive strength of the lower body in female volleyball players aged 14 to 17 years from the Hermano Miguel De la Salle private school in Cuenca-Ecuador. The methodology used has a quantitative approach, its sampling was for convenience; with the participation of 12 athletes. The program lasted 24 sessions, the plyometric training plan focused on improving the explosive strength of the lower body. An instrument was used for pre- and post-test evaluation, Squat Jump test and Counter Movement Squat composed of five variables: jump height, flight time, speed, strength and power. To analyze the data, the IBM SPSS statistical program was used. Among the most relevant results, a significant improvement in jump height, flight time and speed was evident, while no significant changes were achieved in the strength and power variables. Finally, the use of a plyometric training plan can improve the explosive strength of female volleyball athletes between the ages of 14 and 17.
