This paper focuses on the reality of harassment through electronic media such as mobile phones and the Internet, among high school students, in order to characterize the cyberbullying that occurs between these groups. The case study takes place with students from the "SagradosCorazones" High School ubicated in Cuenca city, Azuay Province. For this purpose, we have proposed an exploratory and descriptive research as it is performed at a given population at a specific time by applying an instrument, which is the questionnaire cyberbullying created by Ortega &Mora-MerchanCalmaestra (2007). We have taken a sample of 110 students aged 15 to 19 years, consisting of three General Baccalaureate courses distributed: 33 students of First High School "C", 41 students of the Second High School "B", and 36 students of Third High School “C”. However, the field has been done with 105 students, due to five of them were absent the day of application of the polls. It has been observed in "SagradosCorazones" High School there are some cases of cyberbullying, especially via cell phone, theses victims are intimidated to talk about it and they do not want identify the stalkers; however it is known that the stalkers are

Our investigation purpose was to develop prevention strategies for the scholarship bullying among couples directed tochildren of the first year of Basic Education through emotional and social abilities to contribute for a peace culture, at the Carlos Rigoberto Vintimilla primary school located in Sinincay parish in Cuenca city. This investigation followed the correlational method which we could show the positive change that they produced into the studio group after we applied the bullying prevention strategies. To achieve the objectives we investigated about the countries which contained prevention strategies. After that, we consulted in the bibliography; we adapted the strategies to our educational context. Finally, we applied them to the studio group. The results have showedus that there are positive changes for the developing of the scholarship coexistence, for this reason, there is an increase in the social and emotional abilities knowledge. In General boys and girls that conformed part of the studio group havereflected a decrease in the physical and verbal aggression. Likewise, we affirmed that the scholarship bullying prevention strategies have given us favorable results to improve the school coexistence environment.

Bullying is an aggressive situation currently occurring in primary schools in our city. This is the reason why our research work aims to reduce it through the development of social skills for children, so that they can resolve their conflicts assertively, not violently. Since this behavior was evident, our main goal was to validate psychoeducational and cognitive behavioral strategies to provide teachers guidelines to intervene in cases of bullying; we conducted our research work with the students of the fifth grade of Atenas del Ecuador primary school. This school is part of the Bullying Research Project of the College of Psychology, University of Cuenca. This research process shows a qualitative and quantitative approach with a cross section. A control group and a study group were generated for this purpose. Some of the instruments used were the following: a questionnaire for teachers, to identify the interaction of children in the classroom, the existence of conflicts, and the way teachers usually intervene; the initial questionnaire about the conditions of school life; an observation guide in all the areas of the school, and the questionnaire about progress of the school life project.

Bullying is also known as a social phenomenon that takes place mainly in schools, specifically occurs between students, showing a power imbalance in which one party assumes the role of victim or harassed and the other party becomes the bully or bullies. This type of abuse is characterized by its persistence over time and the intention to do harm. The types of harassment have been classified as direct and indirect manifestations may be physical or psychological. When bullying occurs on the premises of schools, who seek to harass spaces either physical or environmental conditions create the right place to carry out violent acts.

Descriptive Research: Program for Prevention and Reduction of Bullying. Diagnostic Phase : Prevalence BACKGROUND: Bullying is a regionally and local present social phenomenon, so the objective of this study was to establish its prevalence. METHODS: This is a descriptive study in which two educational institutions in the city of Cuenca - Ecuador were included. Two questionnaires were applied: the first one on bullying and mistreatment of students and the other questionnaire about teacher’s perception of school climate; both of them were validated previously. Basic statistics were used for description of the information from the study. RESULTS: The study included 885 students from second to ninth year of basic general education. A 10.6% of children were found to be victims of bullying in the institution “A” and 9.1% in the institution “B”; the predominant demonstrations were: the verbal direct bullying, followed by physical damage to the property of others and to relational environment as the most important. The most common areas of bullying were: the classroom and the playground. CONCLUSIONS: An increase was noticed in the percentage of bullying of 6.4% that was presented in the initial study (2012) to 10.6% in the institution “A” and 9.1% in the “B” which is presented in evidence of 2015, perceptions about the causes of bullying continue being linked to bothering facts, being different, be caused or make a joke, the most prevalent manifestation is the direct verbal nickname, which is linked to Cuenca context, areas where this phenomenon is generated are the same (classroom and playground) and the perception of their school and family environment by students remains favorable.

Cross-Sectional Research: Bullying Associated Variables. INTRODUCTION: Bullying is a multicausal psychosocial phenomenon, the objective of this study was to identify contextualized variables that influence settings of bullying. METHODS: This is a correlational observational cross-sectional descriptive study in which two educational institutions from the city of Cuenca-Ecuador were included. A questionnaire about bullying and mistreatment was applied to students, the instrument had prior validation. Inferential statistics were used for data analysis. RESULTS: 885 students from second to ninth year of basic general education were part of the study. Similar frequency and prevalence of bullying was found in boys and girls. In terms of age group a higher percentage of casualties in children aged 7, 8 and 9 was found; just as direct manifestations: physical damage to the other’s property and relational (rejection) was presented with the highest incidence in younger children. Verbal aggression characterized the harassment in children of 10 years and older. The predominant family type in victims, perpetrators and spec¬tators was the nuclear family; family environment was perceived by children as favorable. The school teacher was perceived as a member of the educational community that stops bullying situations. CONCLUSIONS: Some contextualized variables were identified and associated with the presen¬ce of bullying: a) age, showing that young had greater presence of direct physically bullying, damage to the other’s property and relational bullying (verbal is inherent of older children); b) the family system is characterized in providing the child academic support, communication channels and recreational spaces, however the presence of violent interaction patterns is evi¬dent; c) the school system, in which students perceive teachers as change agents. There was no important incidence of sex in bullying setting up.

The main objective of this research was the prevention of bullying at the male-and-female state school “República de Alemania,” located in the parish of Bellavista, belonging to the city of Cuenca. With this purpose, first to fifth grade teachers of Basic Education, sections A and B, were trained through mediation communicative strategies in order to contribute to the implementation of a peaceful environment and thus a culture of peace. The method used in this research was correlational, which has made evident the positive changes the teachers have gone through after their training in school mediation. This can be visualized in the increase of their ability to manage conflicts and improve school coexistence. For the fulfillment of the objectives proposed, an investigation was carried out about what countries have used school mediation. After the bibliography search, the design of a mediation guide was completed in order to finally train the teachers. Having finished the training, the ten teachers who took part in this research demonstrate sensitivity to bullying at school, greater assertiveness, and communicative fluency to mediate conflicts. This allows to claim that the training developed abilities in the teachers that have enabled them to prevent bullying at “República de Alemania” school.
