Item Análisis estructural melódico de tres cánticos fúnebres de la comunidad de Quilloac(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-04-20) Sinchi Pichasaca, María Rosa; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThis degree work studies various cultural aspects of the traditional Cañari funeral ceremony. For this we have rescued three cañaris funeral songs, which were originally performed in the community of Quilloac during traditional funerals, to later analyze them using ethnomusicological and musical tools. Giving great importance to contextualize the different symbols of it, because it is the result of a mixture between the Cañari culture and the Spanish religious culture brought during the conquest. A concertation of traditions and customs that resulted in a unique syncretism in the Ecuadorian Andes. In the first chapter, some geographical and anthropological data of the Quilloac community are detailed as a context for the consequent historical review of Cañari catholicity, and more specifically to the particular way in which syncretism has occurred. The second chapter reviews the Andean Cosmovision in depth, making a historical review of the different traditions of the Cañari people and their particular vision of the world. In a special way, research is carried out on the treatment that death has had in different cultures and in the Quilloac community. The third chapter presents the musical analysis of the three songs transcribed to score, specifically to musical components such as: Tonality, time signature, texture, melody, agogic, dynamics, timbre and form.Item Composición de cuatro obras para guitarra sola utilizando los ritmos musicales: Yaraví, Yumbo, Danzante y Sanjuanito e interpretación en concierto(2019-07-11) Oña Vega, Franklin Leonardo; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThe thesis developed consists of the creation of four works for solo guitar, using the musical rhythms yaraví, yumbo, danzante and sanjuanito, respectively. First, a brief historical review is prepared, which will allow identifying the musical characteristics that define these rhythms. This information is applied in the present research work with a morphological, structural, melodic and harmonic description of the works carried out, in order to demonstrate the methodology used in the process, applying the qualitative-descriptive approach, the inductive-deductive method and the experimental method. In second place is the explanation of the techniques of musical composition, among which is mentioned, modification of the motive, mixture of harmonies and description of the musical form with the parts that make up each work. Finally, a live presentation of the musical works is made. The psychological and knowledge evolution of preschool children is considered according to Jean Piaget's theory. The didactic guide consists of a practical proposal for the orientation of the teacher, developing a learning environment through play. In this proposal, the necessary information for the preschool activities to be carried out through the appropriate musical game for children in the first initial level will be attached. The musical repertoire is varied, and has creations by the author of the thesis and incorporates typical Ecuadorian rhythms such as the “danzante” and the “san juan”.Item Estudio del canto ritual Haway en las comunidades: Bayushí, Calpi Loma y Palacio Real de la parroquia Calpi-Chimborazo, en su contexto histórico y actual(2018-09-17) Tayupanda Ashqui, César Benito; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesIn the cultures of the world, art is essential for almost all of your daily activities; Mainly the music, sociocultural manifestation to where we focus our study, through the haway or ritual of the harvest, for being a legacy of the Puruhá culture, constituted by a sequence of songs, with structural diversity, thematic and functional; His wide repertoire reflects the ancestral wisdom, ideology and idiosyncrasy of the peoples of this Andean zone, although after the Inca invasion and later the spanish, many celebrations, rituals and ethnic songs were lost or modified. The present work is a study that is framed in the field of the ethnomusicología about the haway ritual; Its objectives are: to document, transcribe and analyze the tradition of this demonstration in the communities: Bayushí San Vicente, Calpi Loma and Palacio Real of Calpi parish; Knowing their geographical and socio-cultural context, the antecedent of this cultural practice, as well as its current dynamics; And finally, to base the meanings that this tradition has for the social actors, that make possible that this practice subsists in spite of the acculturation, urban expansion and migration. Estudio y análisis etnomusical en la parroquia Juncal(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-09-23) Choro Duchi, Segundo Manuel; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThis thesis is titled Lalay Cañari Festival: Pukara songs. Ethnomusical study and analysis in Juncal parish, comprises the ethnomusicological study of Lalay known as Carnival in Juncal parish of the Cañar Canton. The songs of Lalay, include the Takis, the Urpis and the Pukara. The Lalay Cañari is within the agro-festive calendar of the four ancestral celebrations of the Andean people, Inti Raymi, Kapak Raymi, Killa Raymi and Pawkar Raymi. Lalay Cañari coincides with the celebration of the feast of Carnival on the Catholic calendar. The community members prepare each year to receive the Apu Tayta (A mythical person), where each family member prepares and performs their various melodies and songs. In this work it has been possible to reconstruct, to record and to analyze some of the ancient songs of the Pukara, which were interpreted on the battlefields. Pukara is a fighting ritual that was performed between families, communities, or a member of the Juncal communities when he met the Apu Tayta to ensure and achieve the experience of the kushi (happiness), good luck and therefore the alli apanakuy (harmony) for all the year. The work predominantly applies ethnography as a research method, that is, a direct contact with the protagonists such as Kichwa speaking wise fathers (Taytakuna) and wise mothers (Mamakuna), who were interviewed; records that are cited in this thesis. With these elements it is possible to strengthen the knowledge of the culture. The ethnomusicological study presents as final products: compilation, translation, interpretation, collection and edition of scores, textual analysis, musical and recording of songs such as Gallo (Rooster), Pukara, Toro (Bull) and Simbalo/Shulala (wild Andean fruits).Item Guía didáctica para el aprendizaje de la música salsa en la trompeta dirigido a estudiantes de nivel medio(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-09-11) Juca Faican, Byron Fabricio; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThis degree project proposes the creation of a didactic guide for learning Salsa music on the trumpet, aimed at intermediate level students, which progressively organizes existing exercises and techniques for playing the trumpet with repertoire, specially prepared for learning the musical genre Salsa. This guide considers the constructivist educational paradigm, the pedagogical principles of the Orff method and the level of development of students of an intermediate level of trumpet learning. Both the methodology of the qualitative model, and the norms and general structures of scientific research of the bibliographic type are applied. Works of the Salsa genre are analyzed to gather information that serves in the solution to the proposed problem. New study material is provided and organized progressively, applying the current elements of the curricular planning. This work is composed of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion, in which chapter one deals with topics, concepts and the methodology used; chapter two presents the specific content of the didactic guide as such; and chapter three presents the parts of the guide and the study material. Finally, demonstrative audios and the conclusion are presented.Item Guía didáctica para el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de la trompeta(2014) Silva Paredes, Angelo Patrocinio; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThis work of investigation describe a study that has been realized to specific group of children and teenager, who are student of trumpet at "la Merced" conservatory of music on Ambato city. This analysis allow detect that there are nonconformities to teaching-learning system of trumpet, which proves to be performed a new education guide. As a result of this work, a study is made in the context bibliographic, that has been developed until now, which determines inconsistencies about of preliminary technical learning of this instruments, we show a mistakes in the technical of embouchure which produce weak sound and low vibrational level it is caused by bad posture and location of mouthpiece, actions that involve a deficient condensation of lips and generation of weak air flow, lacking high frequency, flexibility and control of record the instrument, and finally, the attack or articulation are heavy, because the position of the tongue to articulate; in conclusion, develops a didactic guide for teaching-learning process of trumpet, by mean of application of several exercise that it will allow to students to get an optimal learning process in this musical instrument.Item Guía didáctica para el trombón de vara dirigido a estudiantes de 12 a 16 años de edad de nivel inicial(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-09-12) Juca Faican, Bryam Steven; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThe work titled "Didactic Guide for the slide trombone directed to students from 12 to 16 years of age of initial level" considers beginners of trombone learning, contains fundamental theoretical aspects on the current educational paradigms and related to the teachinglearning process of music. The bibliographic research addresses the principles of constructivism applied in each unit of the guide, which will motivate the student to investigate and acquire new knowledge. With the activities presented, the student will take into account as learning strategies not only memorization, but also reading, synthesis, analysis, reflection and tasks that will provoke the development of musical language. This his work is designed to contribute to increase the cognitive, attitudinal, psychomotor and musical skills of the student. It incorporates the curricular planning proposed by Julián de Zubiría, as well as, the execution of exercises, songs proposed from the Willems methodology and the Arban trombone method. However, it has been considered pertinent to carry out an extended study of a diversity of songs performed in the aforementioned contexts. In addition, an approach is made to the classification of the musical genres proposed by Lara (1985), a comparison that determined the presence of agricultural jaillis, heroic (pukaras) arawis, wawakis, takis, urpis, evidences attached to each genreItem Planeación didáctica para el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas mediante la percusión corporal en adolescentes de 14 a 15 años(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-08-26) Pacurucu Aucapiña, Christian Leonardo; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThis research proposes a pedagogical strategy centered on body percussion as a didactic resource to enhance non-verbal communicative skills among adolescents aged 14 to 15 in the subject of Cultural and Artistic Education. The proposal is articulated around the traditional Ecuadorian rhythm of the albazo, employing an instructional class design based on the principles of Jaques-Dalcroze Eurhythmics, encouraging expressive embodiment through movement. The methodological design encompassed all stages of the educational process—anticipation, development, and consolidation—and was implemented at Unidad Educativa Ciudad de Cuenca. The intervention included rhythmic activities, spatial and energetic movement exploration, collaborative bodily sequences, and scenic performances. Student learning was assessed through rubrics that considered expressiveness, rhythmic accuracy, bodily awareness, and reflective capacity. The findings revealed significant improvements in the students' grasp of the albazo rhythm, their expressive use of movement, and their ability to convey meaningful messages through the body. However, challenges related to rhythmic precision during improvisation and the depth of reflective writing were also identified. These insights informed adjustments to the methodological proposal to improve its pedagogical impact. In conclusion, the study confirms the potential of body percussion as a holistic educational strategy, emphasizing its value in strengthening non-verbal communication, cultural identity, and group cohesion. Furthermore, the systematized experience serves as a replicable model that can be adapted by other educators to enrich artistic instruction in diverse educational settings.Item Proceso de elaboración de guitarras clásicas en el taller “Guitarras Benalcázar” de la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-08-07) Calle Brito, Carlos Antonio; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesThe present thesis denominated “Proceso de elaboración de guitarras clásicas en el taller “Guitarras Benalcázar” de la ciudad de Cuenca” is an investigation work about the “Benalcazar Guitars” workshop, which the information about the artisanal guitars construction in San Bartolomé and its arrival to Cuenca city is collected. The methodology applies the qualitative vision, with the ethnographic method use, interviews, and life histories, which made possible the insertion of the investigator in the labour ambit of the guitars constructor. Was can participated directly of all the process thanks to the facilities provided by the luthier, Saúl Benálcazar, from Cuenca city (Ecuador). The collected material is visual and descriptive of all the process of the instrument construction and, then a sound sample. After two participative observation months, it could be verified that the guitar construction has concluded and ready for to face its first concert.Item Producción de una radionovela como recurso didáctico musical para el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje, de las relaciones interdisciplinares de las asignaturas de Educación Cultural y Artística y Lengua y Literatura.(2019-06-06) Olalla Arguello, Diego Xavier; Sánchez Plasencia, Angelita MercedesIn the following interdisciplinary project the production of the radio soap opera “Cantuña” is presented as a musical didactic resource in the sublevel of General Basic Higher Education through the integration between subjects, for this case: Cultural and Artistic Education and Language and Literature, oriented towards a practical application of knowledge acquired, through montages of plays, active listening, bibliographical consultation, exhibitions, construction of the script and management of audio editing programs, within constructivism as a basis provided by Ministry of Education of Ecuador, in accordance with new technologies and the current reality that encourages teachers to involve current tools that can arouse interest in their students and especially projects in which they are encouraged to know Ecuadorian music and literature, with the great objective of having a final product that serves both the students of the current school year, as well as serve as an example for future projects.
