For years, the main economic activities to which the population of the parish of Yangana, Loja province has been dedicated, are agriculture and livestock. Agriculture is losing value and is being considered a low-paid sporadic job, while it could be seen as an attraction that allows promoting economic development through tourism. In Yangana there is great touristic potential but an inadequate management of it. Tourism management has been run by public entities for several years leaving the participation of the community aside, being them who dominate the tangible and intangible, natural and cultural wealth of the place. As a result, Yangana is not considered a main tourist destination despite its wealth. Furthermore, there is evidence of the lack of appropriate tourist spots that have basic services in adequate conditions for visitors. On the other hand, it is necessary to understand the concept of agrotourism in a broader way, not only as a place of accommodation, but also as a complete touristic product. A product that includes (in addition to accommodation) recreational, teaching and leisure activities that offer a complete experience with an emphasis on activities related to the work of the field in such a way that it encourages cultural and knowledge exchange, recovering and enhancing the tangible and intangible heritage. This is also meant to boost the agricultural and artisanal economy, thus complementing the touristic economy. The present work is an answer to solve this deficiency. It consists on a plan at a preliminary project level of an agrotourism complex that arises from a macro analysis of the site to a micro analysis, complemented with the research of different study cases, to finally obtain an equipment that offers an unconventional form of tourism. One that includes accommodation and activities related to the work of the field and its main strategies are to respect and promote, through architecture, the agricultural values, construction traditions, sustainable aspects and natural environment. This place of exchange is obtained, having all of the commodities of an urban hotel with an extra value, the provision of a mutual benefit to both the native population and tourists, thus becoming a tourist attraction and reactivating tourism in the area.

Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana (1944-1965). El proyecto y la obra de René Denis
(2019-06-12) García León, Juan Carlos; Ramos Monori, Jeimis Leonardo
The House of the Ecuadorian Culture was created as an institution in August of 1944. Its goal was promoting the culture and the arts of the country. It was necessary to have an adequate space in order to develop all the proposed activities. The final project for this building was preceded by others which were framed in a temporary stage of transition of architectural styles, where modernity was already present in the Country. It is so in 1955 - 1965 René Denis Zaldumbide planned the construction of the Institution. By then this emblematic project for Ecuador was designated to be home for the XI Inter-American Conference of Foreign Ministers. To understand what the motivation was that led to René Denis’ conception of the final project for the CCE, it is necessary to understand the influence that the architect received during his training period at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, forming part of Auguste Perret’s workshop, besides working at 35 Rue de Sèvres, Le Corbusier’s private workshop. Through the compilation of information of different characteristics, whether graphic, oral, written, etc. we proceed to analyze each one in order to understand the criteria and intentions of René Denis when planning and conceiving the final project of the Ecuadorian House of Culture. Through the (re) construction of the project we will understand its formal values, analyzing the site, program and construction.

Centro de exposiciones de artes plásticas y literarias para la Universidad de Cuenca y la ciudad
(2013) Sánchez Avila, Melissa Salomé; Sarmiento Pineda, Natalia Lucía; Ramos Monori, Jeimis Leonardo
The present work of degree is to develop the architectural approach of an exposition center of plastic and literary arts for the University of Cuenca and the city, in a place historically representative with the aim of searching an improvement of art and culture in general from de classroom. The project from its conception becomes antagonistic because it searches for being adapted to the context through the use of its material and volumetric proportions, and providing to the zone with the use of a public space by loosing the corner of its deployment area with the aim of a direct interaction with the user and getting an increase of the social gathering. The different facts of the sector were a key to the conformation of the project, so were the parameters that we considered: a proper use of the natural and artificial light by the correct systems of an aerial lighting and the use of some holes in the walls for creating a light- shadow effect; and the modulation of the elements and structure for bringing some flexibility to the spaces so they could adapt to different necessities.
