    El capital social y las emisiones de 𝑪𝑶𝟐: un estudio para América Latina

    This research seeks to investigate whether social capital manages to mitigate the effect of environmental pollution under the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) approach. A panel of balanced data from 22 Latin American and the Caribbean countries is used in the period from 2009 to 2017. Among the results obtained, there are indications that social capital operates as a mitigator of environmental degradation in Latin America and the Caribbean, in addition, that the nations of the region are in the growth phase of the EKC.
