Item Desarrollo de la coordinación óculo-manual a través de actividades lúdicas en niños de 4 a 5 años de la unidad Educativa San Joaquín del cantón Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-10-24) Chimborazo Buestan, Walter Daniel; Parapi Bacuilima, Walter Geovanny; Vidal Valencia, Tonny EfrénHand-eye coordination is the human ability to synchronize the eyes and hands to perform precise movements. They must be evaluated and stimulated during the growth process in order to enhance them for the development of complex skills. Objective: to evaluate the effects of a program of recreational activities as a strategy for improving hand-eye coordination in boys and girls aged 4 and 5 years from the San Joaquin Educational Unit of the Cuenca canton. Methodology: In this intervention, a study with a cross-sectional quantitative approach, pre-experimental design, was used with a sample of 12 girls and 10 boys; applied for 12 weeks a guide of recreational activities to improve hand-eye coordination. Instrument: For the pre- and post-test evaluation, the IROKA evaluation instrument for hand-eye coordination was used, composed of three aspects: Stopping and trajectory of the object, fine motor skills, and distal proximal development. All of these aspects have a modified assessment from qualitative to quantitative: 0 = no; 1= sometimes; 2: yes. Based on the sum of the items, the participants are classified according to their level in a scale table, facilitating the determination of the level at which each girl or boy is. For the analysis of the statistical data: we worked with the Excel 2019 program and IBM SPSS. Results: positive results were obtained in the aspects of stopping and trajectory of the object and fine motor skills, managing to exceed the regular level. Conclusions: Using the game as a means to develop eye coordination was beneficial for children of initial II.
