Development of a mobile application for the integral care and attention of elderly people
(Springer, 2020) Vintimilla Tapia, Paul Esteban; Bravo Torres, Jack Fernando; Tamariz Ordoñez, Pablo Esteban; Abad Salinas, Yulissa Raquel; Serrano Paredes, Karina De lourdes; Pacheco Sarmiento, Jenny Alexandra; Salazar Montesdeoca, Sandra Cecilia
In recent years, the number of people reaching stages of ageing has increased considerably, reflecting a serious public problem. It is not enough to reach long ages, but to guarantee the integral care and attention of each individual. Thus, taking into consideration the difficulties faced by the elderly, States implement social security programs that seek to support their development. Ecuador follows this trend and presents proposals that address a number of fundamental rights, which are considered priority health care services. Although the measures implemented maintain the health, this reality changes when moving from an urban to a rural scenario. This is justified by the fact that in Ecuador, specialists who care for the elderly constantly change their location and, therefore, their patients, rather than maintaining a non-standardized data record on paper, causing inefficiency and waste of time. For these reasons, this article explains a proposal for a mobile application that seeks to standardize and digitalize the collection of medical data from the elderly in rural areas in order to increase the efficiency of current medical processes. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-07-09) Soria Usiña, Carina Alexandra; Tapia Aguilar, Diego Martin; Pacheco Sarmiento, Jenny Alexandra
Introduction: Physical activity is associated with a wide range of health and developmental benefits in children, including the prevention of overweight, obesity, cardiovascular disease, as well as academic performance and mental health. Objective: To analyze the influence of physical activity programs on anthropometric variables and their relationship with the perception of body image, in children between 8 and 12 years old. Methodology: A literature review was carried out in which articles on physical activity programs, anthropometric variables and their relationship with body image perception in children between 8 and 12 years old were selected. We included indexed databases, articles, reviews and reports from the last 5 years in Spanish and English. Results were presented according to PICO methodology Results: Physical activity programs for children between 8- and 12-years old show low, moderate, and high levels of physical activity at the beginning of their implementation, as well as a different dosage in each application. The programs influenced anthropometric variables, raised self-esteem, improved satisfaction with body image and the competitive capacity of children. Conclusions: Physical activity programs aimed at children between 8 and 12 years of age contributed to an increase in self-esteem, improved perception of body image and satisfaction with body image, the higher the frequency of physical activity, the greater the changes in relation to the variables.

The foot is the pillar that provides support and stability to the individual, so any anomalies that link to the weight distribution should be examined when the foot is resting on the ground. malformations should also be analyzed in the rest of the joints involved in movement if they make it difficult to fluidity and balance the actions. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the types of foot presented by schoolchildren and how they influence the static and dynamic balance during daily physical culture activities in children aged 9 to 11 years. Methodology: It was descriptive, transversal and observational, with the application of quantitative methods and techniques to measure the various research purposes and their later statistical analysis. The instruments used were: Measuring the plantar footprint through the Hernández Corvo method and assessing the static and dynamic balance through the tests: Flamenco Balance, One Leg Balance Test (OLBT) and Dynamic Balance Gesell's test. Results: The prevalence of foot typology was determined in schoolchildren aged 9 to 11 years from the "Carolina de Febres Cordero" School of Basic Education, resulting in: 25.47% with flat foot, 5.85% with cavo foot and 68.68% with normal foot without lateral analysis. in terms of static and dynamic balance, boys have a better balance than girls, in turn, in the flamenco balance girls have a better balance, in relation to the age in the static balance boys of 10 years have better static balance, in terms of the flamenco and dynamic balance tests, 11-year-old students have better balance. On the other hand, comparisons of the test averages with the foot type resulted in a better static balance in the students with foot cavo, better balance in the flamenco balance test in the students with flat feet, the best average times were for the students of foot cavo and normal in the dynamic balance test. Conclusion, in the studied population there is no statistical significance between the foot type and the static and dynamic balance.

Introduction: One of the subjects most affected by the pandemic is Physical Education, since this subject is essentially practical and went from being realized in large spaces, to the homes of the students. It also requires interaction between the teacher and the student to develop better knowledge acquisition and generate adequate motivation. Objective: To identify the levels of motivation generated by the teacher in the classes of virtual physical education and their impact on the practice of extracurricular physical activity Methodology: a quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional study was conducted with 328 students aged 15 to 18 years of unified general baccalaureate from the Hermano Miguel de la Salle Educational Unit, Cuenca. Two validated questionnaires were applied to learn interest and motivation for physical activity and physical education. Descriptive statistics were used using SPSS version 22. Results: 63.1% of the students indicate that there is motivation on the part of the teacher. Intrinsic motivation (23.25%) is more common in the first and third year of high school, while identified (27.42%) and external (27.42%) motivation is more frequent in the last year of high school. Second-year students show greater introjected motivation (29%) and demotivation (15.5%). They carry out physical activity for the pleasure of practicing and then for health reasons individually (64%). Conclusions: We can observe that 50.3% of the students would not attend virtual physical education classes and 49.7% would attend, this being a minimum distance. However, 83.7% of the students carry out extracurricular physical activity given the motivation of the teacher in the classes, this suggests that the motivation in the classes has a small difference, but when talking about extracurricular there is a great difference. Favor of motivation, provided by the teacher.

Inclusion within the field of physical education becomes a particular challenge, since it involves ensuring that all students are harmoniously integrated into classes and sports activities, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and have the opportunity to participate fully. The present research focuses on implementing a cooperative games program for the educational inclusion of students with SEN in the subject of Physical Education. This study arises from the need to know how students with SEN are harmoniously integrated into the educational system. The objective is to evaluate the implementation of cooperative games for educational inclusion among students with special educational needs in Physical Education classes at the February 26th Educational Unit. The methodology has a quasi-experimental research design, crosssectional and with a quantitative approach, created for a program of cooperative games for 12 weeks in the General Unified High School (BGU). The implementation was evaluated through a pretest and posttest with the AF5 forms, the objective and subjective integral scale focused on measuring quality of life. The results showed a positive report of well-being in relation to the dimensions of quality of life, so it is concluded that there is a need to train schoolchildren in aspects related to inclusive education between students with and without SEN.
