In the field of research, was applied a survey elaborate by the University of Chile "Andrés Bello”, that we have analyzed and modified according to our needs and in the contextual reality, and reality of the students with their last years of school of Basic General Education and to young teenagers who have already abandoned their education. This innate response plays a significant role in childhood development, as it functions as the primary defense mechanism against the environment. However, when these responses interfere with emotional, academic, and social development, they generate a negative impact. Physiological, cognitive, and behavioral symptoms occur, limiting healthy development. Taking this issue into account, the research aimed to describe childhood anxiety in second-grade students in an educational unit in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador, during the academic year 2023-2024. This study adopts a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 44 students (28 girls and 16 boys), aged between 6 and 7 years. A non-probabilistic convenience sampling was applied to three parallel classes A, B, and C of the second year of general basic education. The Childhood Anxiety Scale (CAS) by Gillis (2 011) Spanish version and a Sociodemographic Questionnaire were administered. The results reveal the presence of moderate and low levels of childhood anxiety, with a predominance of moderate levels across the study categories. Additionally, internal and external factors associated with anxiety were identified, highlighting that personal worth serves as a strategy to reduce childhood anxiety levels.Item Autoconcepto en adolescentes de 13 a 15 años de educación general básica(2015) Padilla Chima, Martha Asucena; Pacheco Salazar, María de LourdesThe purpose of this research work was to detect the self-concept level that teenagers have at the Educational Center “Juan Peñafiel” located in the parish of El Valle of the community Pucacruz Alto in the canton of Cuenca, province of Azuay. In order to fulfill the objectives pursued and give answers to the research questions, a structured questionnaire was applied to 60 students of the Educational Center whose ages varied between thirteen and fifteen years-old. This diagnostic tool belongs to Fernando García& Gonzalo Musitu’s Form 5 Self-concept Test (AF5) (2005) which is composed of five specific areas: working-academic, social, emotional, family, and physical. The results obtained from the research are the following: a high self-concept level is represented by a percentage of 3.33% while an average self-concept is represented by the 8.33% and a low self-concept is represented by the 88.33 % of the population investigated. In the light of these findings, it is hoped that the joint involvement of the Educational Center, teachers, and parents will provide teenagers with strategies to motivate, stimulate and develop their self-concept level since this is the stage where the personality of human beings is structured.Item Bienestar psicológico post confinamiento por COVID-19 en estudiantes de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca en el periodo académico marzo-agosto 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-03) Aguaisa Tenemaza, Carla Alexandra; Miranda Machuca, Stephanie Jacqueline; Pacheco Salazar, María de LourdesPsychological well-being proposes a life of fullness in the long term, and not just ephemeral satisfaction. In the year 2020, due to an infectious disease called COVID - 19, the world was forced into confinement to prevent its spread. As a result of this, psychological well-being was influenced by contextual factors such as the pandemic, which has affected different areas of human life, in particular, students in universities. The purpose of this research is to describe the post-confinement psychological well-being by COVID - 19 in students of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca in the period March - August 2022. The study follows a quantitative approach with a type of non-experimental design of cross section and descriptive scope. We will work with a representative sample of 258 students, who are studying Bachelor's degrees in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Educational psychology and Social Psychology. The instruments to be used will be the Carol Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale, which objectively evaluates the dimensions of psychological well-being and a sociodemographic record with relevant variables such as age, sex, career, marital status and socioeconomic conditions. It is expected to obtain descriptive results of the six dimensions that make up psychological well-being in university students, grouped in a database that will be useful for future research and programs for the prevention and promotion of psychological well-being.Item Cohesión y adaptabilidad familiar en pacientes mujeres drogodependientes(2019-07-15) Prado Alvear, Ana Belén; Pacheco Salazar, María de LourdesAccording to the National Institute of Health, in the past women were excluded from most clinic research on drug use and, at local level this topic has been addressed from a general approach without gender differentiation. Given the raised problem, the aim of the present cross-sectional quantitative study is to describe the type of family cohesion and adaptability in female drug-dependent patients. The population comprises 37 women from 19 to 61 years old and with an average of 26 years, who belongs to two rehabilitation centers of the city of Cuenca: Exitus and 12 Steps. The research tool has become a sociodemographic sheet to gather basic information of the participants and measure the variables of family cohesion and adaptability. In addition, the research uses the FACES III scale (Olson et al., 1985) validated by Schmidt (2010). The result exposes that 19 drug-dependent women belongs to an independent cohesion type; In terms of adaptability, there are two predominant types: flexible and chaotic, these two with 12 drug-dependent women; Finally, 17 cases of women present a mid-range family type. When examining the findings, it is stated that, the type of family of independent cohesion prevails, which indicates the absence of affective union among the relatives. The beliefs that the dependent holds about love, filiation, and life as a couple are distorted, creating in the individual an excessive need of being with the partner most of the time in the current research, the main objective was to describe the general level and predominant factors of the emotional dependency in a couple relationship in students of the Engineering Faculty of University of Cuenca in 2021. This study followed a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive design, with the participation of 93 participants (65 men and 28 women) who accomplish all the inclusion criteria of this study. The students were from the non-current majors, qualified for degree registration and redesign: civil, electrical, computer and telecommunications during March- August 2021 period. The instruments used were the Emotional Dependence Questionnaire to assess the emotional dependency in couple’s relationship and a socio demographic form to describe the variables of interest in this study. The main results showed that the participants present a low general level of emotional dependency and the factors that predominate are attention seeking and borderline expression. For this reason, a development language description in children between 3 and 4 years; will be done with results we to precise a difference about the language development between the subjects of this application. Also we pretend to determine economic, family and school factors associated with the language development. The investigation was done in order to treat a descriptive study, We are going to use a quantitative or qualitative focus. We are going to work with a population having 80 children between 3 and 4 years at the Luis Cordero School. For this work 30 children were chosen intentionally, in some cases, and randomly in other cases since we done our professional practice in that institution . This investigation instrument called Franklin Martinez was executed without any difficulty. at the end of this investigation, we could get the following information: The three years old girls got 59% as a percentage in the language development , on the other hand, the boys belonging to the same group obtained 41%. The study population, 20 grandmothers with their grandchildren with six and seven years old.On the theme "Parenting Styles of grandmothers who take care of migrants grandchildren" of Sor Maria Alvarado School from Chordeleg canton and parish, Azuay province. We used two instruments: The Questionnaire "socio educational of habits and behavioral tendencies in families with preschoolers by Susana Torío (2008), and the semi - structured by MazónOrdoñez (2014). It is to analyze limits and hierarchy in the context of family. The results indicate that 100% of grandmothers adopted educational practices that correspond to a democratic style of parenting. The marital subsystem has uncertain limitations. The parent-child and fraternal subsystems indicate flexible boundaries. The hierarchy, the grandparents have followed grandmothers and the minority of parents who are away from home.Item Estilos de crianza en familias con niños de 4 a 5 años(2018) Chaca Fajardo, Claudia Fiorela; Morales Lluisupa, Paola Cristina; Pacheco Salazar, María de LourdesThe objective of this research is to describe the predominant parenting style in the different types of families of children aged between 4 and 5 years of schooling in Initial. The focus of the research is quantitative, because it was processed by representing reality numerically. It is a descriptive research because it will facilitate knowing what parenting styles predominate in children aged between 4 and 5 years of age enrolled in Initial II, Sub-level II. In a probabilistic sample of the population comprised of 211 children, whose parents voluntarily expressed their decision to participate in the study. As an instrument for the collection of information, the Adapted Questionnaire of Susana Torío, (2008) was used to achieve the objectives of the present investigation. The information obtained was processed using the statistical program SPSS 19, which allowed to visualize the results by means of the representation in tables and figures with frequencies and percentages. The results show that the families studied have undefined parenting styles with 53%, following a high rate in the Democratic Style with 47%, which represents a reasoned discipline, assertive communication, affective behavior and concern in the needs of the infant. The predominance of the nuclear family type was determined, consisting of father and mother with 62%, extended family 24%, uniparental family 14%.Item Estilos de enseñanza y competencias docentes percibidas por docentes y estudiantes respectivamente, de las áreas de las ciencias sociales y jurídicas de la Universidad de Cuenca, en el periodo 2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-07) Avilés Chávez, Evelin Johanna; Pacheco Salazar, María de LourdesTeaching styles are the way teachers impart knowledge and promote an effective teaching-learning process; each style has its own characteristics and the teacher can adapt them according to their own criteria, needs and particularities. The teaching skills are linked to this process, which help reach students meaningfully. The objective of this study is to describe the teaching styles according to the sociodemographic variables, sex, years of teaching and the evaluation of teaching competences according to the students' perceptions, of those attending the social and legal sciences schools. The research followed a quantitative approach, descriptive scope, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The research encompassed 64 teachers and 579 students from four schools at the University of Cuenca, during the March - September 2020 academic period. A sociodemographic file, the teaching styles questionnaire and the teaching competence questionnaire were used. The results of the study indicate that the predominant teaching style is the formal style, while the functional style was the least predominant. According to sex and years of teaching, the teaching styles that obtained the highest score were, open, formal and functional in men; the open, structured and functional style was higher in teachers with 1-2 years of teaching. Students perceive teaching competence as good.Item Estrategias de afrontamiento en adolescentes embarazadas escolarizadas(2016) Guamán Córdova, Marlon Ricardo; Pillajo Pintado, Ramiro Fernando; Pacheco Salazar, María de LourdesThis research aims to identify the coping strategies of out of school pregnant teens and psychosocial problems that cross over this situation. The methodology used is descriptive and transversal type since several cases were used with a single unit of analysis; mixed type, the tools used were the ACS scale of how specific, necessary to describe these strategies; at the same time also an interview semi structured data subsidiaries, and a tab of psycho-social conflicts; participants were selected on the basis of a record of the DECE of Colegio Cesar Dávila Andrade, a total of 10 out of school pregnant teens. As overall results was obtained, the teenagers if they use strategies to deal with the situation of the pregnancy, having greater predominance "Think positive", find an alternative that allows them to deal with this situation; being style led to the solution of problems the option chosen; demonstrating that the attitude of families before the adolescent pregnancy is negative at the beginning adopting during acceptance and supporting the teenager to continue with their studies.Item Estrategias de comunicación e inteligencia emocional en padres de familia de la Unidad Educativa Particular Corel en Cuenca en el período 2019-2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-03-08) Torres Pogo, Carlos Danilo; Pacheco Salazar, María de LourdesThe purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between communication strategies and emotional intelligence in the parents of the Corel private educational unit in the city of Cuenca according to the age, sex and duration of the relationship. The research was quantitative with a non-experimental design and a correlational scope. The sample was selected in a non-probabilistic manner with two types of sampling: for convenience and fees. The estimated population was 120 parents. Of these, a total of 100 people, 44 men and 56 women between the ages of 25 and 65, with an average of 40 years were registered as a sample. The instruments were: The Couple Assertion Questionnaire (ASPA) composed of 40 questions in which the protocols of the four communication strategies will be calculated: assertion, aggression, submission and aggression-passivity is used most frequently; and the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale, Spanish version (WLEIS-S) composed of 4 factors with 16 items that calculate: the assessment and expression of one's emotions, assessment and recognition of emotions in others, regulation of own emotions and use of emotions. The results that, on a general level, parents often use assertion as a communication strategy to respond to conflicts in the relationship. The ability of the IE scale assimilation or use of emotions is the one that is most managed in relation to both genders. Finally, a positive correlation was found between assimilation and assertive communication strategy.
