La currente industry del entertainment has invested in the representation of diverse figures related to video games, series, movies, among other visual productions. Certainly, the resulting iconography is highly international, as it is constructed by the most developed countries. In this context, we set out to enrich the Funko with Ecuadorian aesthetics as a visual practice in the current entertainment industry, increasing Ecuador's participation in the dynamics of the prevailing visual culture. To this end, a set of six figures representing different nationalities was contributed, sculpturally resolved, entirely in line with the mentioned contemporary genre. Each of these nationalities and/or indigenous communities in Ecuador will highlight the aesthetics of the clothing used in their community and culture, serving as an element that promotes the playful and educational component by fostering awareness of the Andean plurinational nature characteristic of Ecuadorian society. The aesthetic experience is aimed at the hedonism of a primarily international audience, aiming to enrich them with renewed iconographies from the American regional context, which will add value to an already international practice of collecting and promote the diffusion of Ecuadorian national identity throughout the world.

In recent times, progress in artificial intelligence has sparked growing interest among society, generating debates and raising doubts about its application and scope. Faced with this reality, the need arises to embark on an exercise of creative fantasy through which the fears and uncertainties that such advances awaken in us can be exposed. To this end, the development of a visual narrative based on the science fiction genre is proposed, in which the intersection between humanity and technology is illustrated, promoting critical reflection through fantasy in the visual arts.

The introduction of artwork is a way to contribute to the development of better non-formal education, the proposal on the illustration is meant to be a support to the institution "Pumapungo Museum" since you can use them in brochures, and be distributed to educators and students. Visitors are full of information and knowledge imparted and that's where this material is important for visitors or schools because they can reinforce learning. Some people learn only by observation, the association of shapes and color, the linkage to the requirement of the museum makes it more interesting, therefore the illustrator has a challenge in the changing world we face, teaching without words and without losing the story is an effort to new ways of seeing the museum and the world, as their application is diverse in movies, books, etc.

(2017) Maurad Maurad, Luis Emanuel; Novillo Mora, Angel Gustavo
Urban Art also known as Street Art makes an appearance in the mid-nineties in the form of simple and plains graphics. However, the constant competition among practitioners has demanded an evolution of this artistic practice, resulting in a plastic expression of aesthetic large value, which to mean that academic, empirical and experimental artists will perform most frequently today. On other hand, for the realization of coherent graphs between concept and form, it is necessary; ability, experience and quality. Since the handling of these three fields the work accomplished their main task which is to clearly communicate your message in the absence of the author, also no longer it considered a transgression of public and private spaces, becoming a pictorial place value, in view of every passerby.

La deconstrucción del cuerpo en su tránsito a lo virtual: creación de retratos con fotografía híbrida
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-12-02) Parra Torres, Omar Rafael; Novillo Mora, Angel Gustavo
The technological revolution opens up new modes of communication and ways of knowing the planet, without a doubt this technological revolution has transformed culture in recent decades. Thus, the so-called WEB 2.0 converts all users into the product, where quantity is more relevant than quality, that is, as more likes and virtual friends we have, the greater the relevance of the platform or social network., generating in all people the sense of belonging, collaboration, and connection to a group or a digital society. Now, if the ways of developing, retouching, and printing are known for photography, for analog painting we are talking about an issue that is generally directly related to a canvas unless another non-analog format such as is the situation of digital painting; it is for this reason that it is intended to make an analog painting on a digital photographic chemical print.

(2014) Cabanilla Urrea, Sara María; Novillo Mora, Angel Gustavo
This research work analyzes the influence that pictorial Modernism and contemporary art trends have had in the development of the art circuit of Guayaquil in the first decade of the new millennium. Problems such as the feeling that there is a certain lack of knowledge of the work of prominent local artists and of contemporary art practices among some groups of people, the process of change that generates artistic and cultural debate in a very commercial city, and the relationship among the members of the art circuit are issues addressed from an experiential perspective based on the testimonies of the protagonists of the period analyzed. From this perspective, the relevance of an approach that promotes dialogue and agreement among the parties involved is shaped with the aim of achieving greater and more effective cultural management that links all the art tendencies and at the same time helps to accelerate the cultural dynamics of Guayaquil, Ecuador’s main port.

Potenciación simbólica en propuesta visual contemporánea para la igualdad de género y el empoderamiento social de la mujer Shuar
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-11) Choco Leon, Luis Alberto; Novillo Mora, Angel Gustavo
In the current processes of international gender equality and women's empowerment, the ethnic and cultural groups that are less represented and with seats or pockets of resistance, may be the slowest to advance. In this context, we proposed to contribute to gender equality and social empowerment of Shuar women, through a deeply symbolic contemporary pictorial series, in the format of a triptych, as a contribution to a path in which we already recognize some progress in Ecuador. Our work guides the viewer through a symbolic journey that represents three moments of challenge and resilience faced by Shuar women. First the confrontation with ingrained gender stereotypes, unfavorable to the community. Then the struggle that represents resilience and the search for equity. Finally, the rebirth, which represents the notion of overcoming, triumph and happiness achieved through empowerment. The work was possible after an investigation in which the ethnographic experience of the artist himself prevails, who searched for and selected the tools aimed at understanding and treating the problem in acrylic on canvas. The resulting experience transcends mere artistic expression, seeking also to become an instrument of social change. It aims to contribute to update ways of thinking in tune with the social advances of the country, to promote solidarity with women and their dignity in the world of work.

The present work explores, through research-creation, the development of a hybridization based on the techniques and styles of artists Joaquín Sorolla and Lucian Freud. It imphasizes specific characteristics of these references, such as luminism and a psychological approach, respectively. The final result is presented in the form of a triptych, allowing for a visual representation of this creative process. The resulting work stands out for its ability to draw from historical elements, which, combined with the artist-author's technique and perspective, yield new technical and methodological knowledge. This pictorial hybridization enables an understanding of Sorolla's fluid brushstrokes, contrasted with the expressive density of Freud's lines, creating a unique visual language through the fusion of these styles. It also contributes to the stylistic renewal of contemporary art, aiming to preserve and give new visibility to these artistic approaches.

(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-24) Morocho Gomez, Axel Mateo; Novillo Mora, Angel Gustavo
The objective of the present work is to create an allegorical proposal of the Barrio San José de Balzay, in Cuenca, for the strengthening of the community's cultural identity. As it goes deeper into the research, the autoethnographic is approached, but it also encapsulates the perspectives of the inhabitants of the community, through the ideo-thematic, morphological and expressive construction. In this way the mural becomes the possible medium that brings together memory, identity and affection.
