The objective of this work is to identify the entrepreneurial intention in postgraduate students of a public university, the University of Cuenca-Ecuador, and furthermore to know the influence of the variables: post-graduate programs, gender, family, motivation and obstacles in their intention of undertake. A quantitative approach was approached, with exploratory level scope, the sample was 314 postgraduates from different post-graduate programs offered by this university. The bivariate analysis Pearson's Chi square, ANOVA and post-hoc (Tukey) were applied. The results showed that the sample of postgraduates from the different post-graduate programs present a vague entrepreneurial intention, they also show a high desirability and a low feasibility to undertake. Gender doesn’t influence the intention of entrepreneurship, master students with family entrepreneurs have a greater propensity to entrepreneurship, furthermore present motivations and obstacles in their attitude for starting a new business. The findings suggest including entrepreneurship in the training of postgraduate students to boost self-employment and business creation.
