    “Evaluación y modificación de los conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Artes, escuelas de artes aplicadas y artes escénicas-comunes, en la Universidad de Cuenca, frente a las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS) Y VIH/SIDA”

    We performed a quasi-experimental study of educational intervention on students of schools of applied arts and performing arts-common, of the University of Cuenca, to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices in STI / HIV / AIDS, was used a sample of 66 from a total of 475 students of the Faculty of Arts. Through the implementation of a Pre-CAPs was established quality and level of knowledge, attitudes and practices of adolescents was developed educational presentation materials, whose effectiveness was evaluated 3 months later by a Post-CAPs based on the theory social cognitive Albert Bandura.- The results show a significant increase of knowledge on condylomata of 9.09% to 93.7%, gonorrhea 57.5% to 100%, trichomoniasis 18.8% to 81.2%, chlamydia 18.8% to 92.2%. With regard to the mode of transmission without penetration increased from 74.2% to 89.1% and from infected mother to child from 75.7% to 96.8%. The symptoms of STIs, there are a significant elevation: pain in lower belly of 19.7% to 78.1%, genital warts 59.1% to 98.4% and swollen glands from 45.5% to 89.1%. Whether they are curable: syphilis increased 69.7% to 100%, trichomoniasis 18.1 to 81.3%, chlamydia 18.1% to 92.2%.-In terms of attitudes, there is an improvement over talking with parents, going to the hospital, the doctor, do not go to the pharmacy, or go to friends. With regard to sexual practices, we see a better insight into relations with genital intercourse and condom use. The results of self-efficacy scales A, B and C shows that the safety of students was changed but there was no statistical significance.
