The present research proposes the approach of an Instructional Methodological Class, focused on a group of teachers of Higher General Basic Education, of the subject of Cultural and Artistic Education, of the Educational Unit Liceo Americano Católico, with the objective of developing didactic tools of artistic-scenic character in them, through the creation of Andean characters, derived from the application of western theatrical techniques, for the teaching-learning of theater from curricular contents of the Ecuadorian culture. The referents that structure the class come from the field of theater and diverse pedagogical currents and theories, which provide conceptual foundations and practical strategies for teaching through theater. A participatory and experiential methodology is used, involving practical activities, theoretical reflections and group discussions, where basic theatrical concepts, acting techniques, character creation and pedagogical applications of theater in the classroom are addressed, based on relaxation, breathing and body expression exercises, as well as the creation and representation of theatrical scenes. The results show a positive impact on teachers, who experience greater confidence in the use of theater in their classes, improve their interpretative skills and develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between theater and learning, from which they can see the relationship between theater and learning
