The thesis project proposed the creation of a school sports newspaper at the Miguel Moreno Ordóñez Educational Institution with the purpose of strengthening students' writing, reading, and interviewing skills. During the sports days, the students took on the role of reporters: they wrote articles about the matches and interviewed their fellow athletes, which strengthened their communication and journalistic skills. The methodology combined a mixed-methods action-research approach, which included prior training in journalistic techniques, the production and dissemination of the newspaper in digital format, and the evaluation of its results through surveys and interviews. This initiative not only fostered interest in reading and enhanced writing and interviewing skills, but also encouraged student participation in sports and journalism activities, thus contributing to strengthening community cohesion. Furthermore, after its implementation, ninth-grade students showed significant progress in their reading and writing skills, demonstrating the project's effectiveness in improving their academic performance.
