    Relación entre funcionamiento familiar y autoestima en estudiantes de la carrera de Psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca, período 2021

    Family functioning is an important factor in the state of well-being of the human being, in which self-esteem plays a fundamental role, these two variables are closely related and provides people strenght to face enviroment demands in a healthy way. Its necesary to pay special attention to them because they form the people integral development. The general objective of this research work was to relate the family functioning and self-esteem in students of the Psychology career at the University of Cuenca, in the period 2021. The study had a quantitative approach, with a nonexperimental design, cross-sectional and correlational scope. The population was 236 students, a sample of 176 was obtained, however, due to the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic the research was carried out with 80 students. The assessment tools were the FF-SIL to assess intrafamily relationships and the Rosenberg self-esteem scale, which assesses levels of self-esteem. It was found that the students evaluated were more frequently located within the functional and moderately functional categories regarding family functioning and in self-esteem, moderate levels were more frequent. In reference to the correlation, a direction towards the positive pole was shown and a correlation between the mentioned variables of .270 was evidenced according to the Spearman statistical test.
