Item Análisis de los factores que motivan la inseguridad en la parroquia El Sagrario de la ciudad de Cuenca en el año 2019(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-10-25) Bacuilima Chuqui, María Fernanda; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderPublic safety is multidimensional, and it must guarantee that every citizen should be able to live freely without any misery or fear. Despite overall economic gains in social and technological rights this has not yet been achieved in Latin America which has also been catalogued as the most violent area in the world. In the county of Cuenca, parish “el Sagrario” it has been historically constituted as one of the most unsafe areas even though it has infrastructural and security facilities that have been determined by international standards as “suitable.” Under these circumstances it is important to determine which social issues cause the parish “el Sagrario” to be unsafe. Through qualitative research it has been shown that poverty, inequality, lack of opportunities, alcoholism, drug abuse, prostitution, migration, and disorder are the main factors that trigger these criminal conditions in the parish “el Sagrario.” The capitalist system and its principles determine the social dynamics of a society which has resulted in social issues that have been influenced by the level of violence in the parish “el Sagrario.” The authorities took on the challenge to reduce crime.Item Análisis de los factores socioeconómicos y de género relacionados con el emprendimiento femenino en la Asociación de Productores Agroecológicos del Azuay (Apa Azuay). Año 2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-05) Morocho Loja, Jennifer Estefania; Once Gomez, Dayanna Brigette; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderThe research project, Analysis of Socioeconomic and Gender Factors Related to Female Entrepreneurship in the Association of Agroecological Producers of Azuay (APA AZUAY). Year 2024”, is a research that seeks to analyze the socioeconomic factors related to female entrepreneurship in the Association of Agroecological Producers of Azuay. This study had a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological design and explanatory scope. Semi- structured interviews based on a guide of questions were used. The results show that women entrepreneurs face challenges derived from gender barriers, social and economic constraints, and that the main motivation for entrepreneurship stems from the need to generate income for the welfare of their families, in addition to the desire for their own autonomy, so that they use strategies such as mutual support, innovation and adaptation to overcome various challenges in their entrepreneurial process. In addition, they have challenged traditional gender stereotypes, promoting their entrepreneurship and demonstrating their capacity for leadership and making important economic decisions. In conclusion, the women of APA Azuay have transformed challenges into opportunities, showing resilience, leadership and capacity to overcome barriers, balance responsibilities and consolidate their ventures as a means to achieve autonomy and the well-being of their families.Item Análisis de los roles productivo y reproductivo asumidos en la edad productiva de las personas adultas mayores y los efectos en la seguridad económica en la vejez desde la perspectiva de género, en la Parroquia Sayausí en el 2025(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Políticas y Sociales, 2025-10-05) Luna Guevara, Michelle Alexandra; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderThe research project "Analysis of the Productive and Reproductive Roles Assumed During the Working-Age Period by Older Adults and Their Effects on Economic Security in Old Age from a Gender Perspective, in Sayausí Parish in 2025" aims to analyze the perceptions of men and women aged 65 and over regarding their current economic security and the gender roles they assumed during their productive years. This qualitative study, with a phenomenological design and an exploratory-descriptive scope, employs thematic-narrative analysis to categorize and interpret relevant discourse. The techniques used include in- depth interviews and focus groups, aimed at understanding participants’ experiences related to economic security, productive and reproductive roles, and their effects in old age. The study seeks to identify gender-based patterns and inequalities that may contribute to public policy discussions and strategies to improve the quality of life of older adults. Conducted exclusively in Sayausí Parish (Cuenca, Ecuador), the research adheres to high ethical standards through data anonymization and informed consent. The findings indicate that the productive and reproductive roles assumed during the working-age period have a significant and differentiated impact on economic security in old age. In the case of women, most of their time was dedicated to unpaid caregiving work, which limited their access to stable employment and social security. In contrast, men mainly engaged in productive activities that enabled greater economic stability.Item Condiciones sociolaborales de las personas adultas en conflicto con la ley que obtuvieron el régimen semiabierto en el CPL Azuay N.o1, periodo 2021- 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-02) Loja Arévalo, Magaly Lorena; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderPeople who have committed a crime after serving their sentence and trying to reintegrate into their new context generally lack family and social support, many even do not believe in their rehabilitation, thus causing the reintegration to which they seek access to become a real challenge, that is why, the present investigation carried out in the CPL Azuay N°1, was born with the purpose of describing the socio-labor conditions of the people deprived of their liberty who obtained the semi-open regime. The methodology with which we worked started from the application of surveys and semi- structured interviews to the PACLs that accessed the semi-open regime in the period 2021- 2022, with a non-experimental design - cross-sectional, this in what concerns the quantitative part, while for the qualitative part it was approached from a phenomenological perspective, considering that this group has as its main characteristic the fact of having obtained the semi- open regime. The results of the investigation were that the vast majority of the study population are men from the city of Cuenca, who range between the ages of 45-50 years of age, it was also evidenced that it is men who receive more support from the couple in the workplace; among the labor activities to which they are mainly engaged is agriculture, livestock and trade of products, being the sector that is mostly working is in the private sector, however, there is also a significant percentage that works on their own account.Item Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas acerca de la violencia de género en el noviazgo en las y los estudiantes del Tercero de Bachillerato del Colegio Antonio Ávila, en el periodo septiembre 2022- febrero 2023 Cuenca, Azuay.(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-01) Barbecho Pizarro, Abigail Alexandra; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderGender violence in courtship is a worldwide problem, which occurs in the adolescent stage in which men exercise violence against their partners in various forms from psychological to physical, under the belief that they are actions of care or love, based on this, the purpose of the research was to identify the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices that third year high school students of the Antonio Avila Maldonado School have about gender violence in courtship. The research methodology was quantitative, applied, descriptive and non-experimental. In this context, a sample of 114 third year high school students was used, the results indicated that students confuse the types of violence and showed that 11.1% of women and 28.3% of men consider that blackmail and manipulation are forms of physical violence; as for attitudes, 21.75% of men and 4.8% of women indicated that they strongly agree with the attitude that the woman's body belongs to the man, and finally, the most prevalent practices in relationships are verbal, physical and sexual violence.Item Efectos que genera la discriminación laboral en el bienestar emocional de la población LGBTI que están articuladas a las diferentes asociaciones de la ciudad de Cuenca, durante el período 2022-2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-04) Loja Fierro, Carlos Alberto; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderLabor discrimination against the LGBTIQ+ population is a latent problem worldwide and when this type of discrimination occurs, it can affect their emotional well-being, due to the acts experienced, either by the employer, co-workers and even customers. Thus, the purpose of the study was to determine the effects generated by labor discrimination on the emotional well-being of the LGBTIQ+ population that are articulated to the different associations of the city of Cuenca, during the period 2022-2023. Likewise, the type of research was mixed with quantitative preponderance, exploratory, descriptive and explanatory level, survey techniques, questionnaire and in-depth interview. Likewise, the quantitative part for the sociodemographic characterization of the LGBTIQ+ population, to formulate questions about the work environment and emotional well-being, we worked with the entities that opened the degree work with a total of 16 participants, for the selection we used non-probabilistic intentional sampling, the qualitative part was to know the perceptions of the interviewees about labor discrimination and the effects on emotional well-being considering: 1.- Articulation to the institutions, 2.- Over 18 years of age and 3. victims of employment discrimination The results obtained through the techniques and instruments applied reflect that the LGBTIQ+ population suffers labor discrimination in different ways, by the employer towards those who identify themselves as gay and Transfemale, private sector, in addition, they are vulnerable choosing to hide their sexual orientation, for trans people it is difficult due to physical changes in their body, in addition, it is determined that it affects their emotional well-being, through depressive and anxious symptoms, suicidal spectrum and life satisfaction.Publication El perfil de la víctima y el tipo de delito como condicionantes de la no denuncia: Implicaciones para las políticas victimológicas(2021) Machado Arévalo, María Antonia; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco Alexander; Chuqui Mainato, Cristian Joseph; Ramírez Chica, Andrés de Jesús; Sucozhañay Calle, Dolores CatalinaLatin America reveals the highest rates of non-reporting of crime worldwide, even more so in countries like Ecuador where non-reporting is recorded in 80% of criminal events. Studies on victims and non-reporting are still scarce and have focused on victimization rates; in addition, there is a theoretical gap on non-reporting from its primary causalities. This study analyzes it from the observation of the socio-demographic profile of the victims and the type of crime perpetrated as influencing factors. Using quantitative research methods, the III Survey of Victimization and Perception of Citizen Security of Cuenca, Ecuador, 2016 was analyzed, which shows a profile of a victim who does not report linked to exclusion, poverty and inequities and a pattern of less reported crimes in thefts, robberies and extortion, factors that must be recognized in order to focus victimological public policy efforts.Item Estudio comparativo de las metodologías para planes de ordenamiento territorial en asentamientos indígenas. Aportes para el caso ecuatoriano(2018-01-12) Martínez Ordóñez, Luisa María; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderEcuador has undergone substantial changes in institutional policy, since the Constitution approved in 2008 was constituted with a plurinational and intercultural character focused in the paradigm of Good Living (Sumak Kawsay), in the search for a harmonious relationship between society and nature, this last one recognized as subject of rights in the aforementioned constitution. Furthermore, of the formal recognition of indigenous people and nationalities as territorial units, they search to claim and enforce their rights in the framework of interculturality. In regards to the planning of these territories there are operational instruments, such is the case of SENPLADES that issues a methodological guide for the elaboration of the plans of development and territorial order for each level of government with general guidelines that can get homogenized to the population outside of this intercultural approach. In the present work seeks to position Ecuador in the fulfillment of this public policy against similar cases within the Andean Community, thus, from an integral point of view, the experiences of countries that go by this path are taken in order to have guidelines on the effectiveness of policies in relation with the operative instruments that effects the rights in the indigenous population. If one thinks, in the indigenous settlements with an own cosmovision, the only way to guarantee what is stated in the constitutional charter to achieve a Good Living, is the contribution, with guidelines that help us move forward regarding on the planning of indigenous settlements in order for them to appropriate and self-manage and at serve to the construct of this new paradigm.Item Evaluación del impacto del nuevo modelo de gestión educativa sobre la tasa de deserción estudiantil en el Distrito de Educación 01D06; periodo 2009-2016(2019-01) Barrionuevo Bravo, Luis Ernesto; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderThe main objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of the implementation of the new educational management model on the probability of students in district 01D06 leaving the educational system. For this, the methodology used was to calculate the average treatment effect through the estimation of the "Propensity Score Macthing", as it is a non-experimental method that adjusts to the nature of the problem due to the unavailability of information from a student before treatment and after treatment. From the literature consulted it was obtained that school desertion is the result of the influence of factors associated with the composition of the student's home, the relationship he maintains with his parents and the school environment. In order to measure the effect of the treatment of the application of the new educational management model, the probability of desertion of the students who were the object of the relocation of their schools was calculated. The probabilities of deserting are obtained from the estimation of a LOGIT model, whose results will indicate which are the variables that are significant for the case of district 01D06, and the impact that each one has. The results indicate that the time moved to the campus does positively influence the likelihood of dropping out in addition to the hours studied in the day. The research has a quantitative approach, with an explanatory, descriptive, exploratory, cross-sectional and non-experimental design. It seeks to identify the sociodemographic characteristics and factors associated with the intention to drop out. The study population are students who are making their first enrollment in the different subjects in course, a probabilistic sample of simple random type known to 93% confidence and 7% error was made with a total of 97 students surveyed. The analysis by means of the Chi-square relationship at the micro level identified that the support of parents or guardians in the university career and the emotional support given by classmates are factors that are related to the intention to drop out. At the meso level, 2 factors were identified that are associated with the intention to drop out of the students, which are: the student's motivation to pursue a university career and the sense of belonging to the university community. Based on the results, it is recommended to propose interventions and strategies for student retention.Item Factores de riesgo de los adolescentes infractores de Azuay, Cañar y Morona Santiago de la UZDI 6, pertenecientes a casos pasivos del periodo 2015-2019(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-12-20) Uchu Jimbo, Paula Karina; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderThis study provides quantitative and detailed information on the sociodemographic characteristics as well as the personal, family, and social risk factors of the adolescent offenders in the UZDI 6. This information collected in various variables is systematized and processed with the help of the SPSS database. This information contains various variables, collected, systematized and processed in the SPSS database , which allowed us to recognize those situations that contributed to the adolescents being immersed in illicit acts, this is possible since the passive cases of the unit are analyzed, considered as those cases in which adolescents in conflict with criminal law fully complied with the noncustodial socio-educational measures in the period 2015-2019. The results show that there are no isolated risk factors that account for criminal behaviors, however, there are some of them that stand out over others: on a personal level, the self-esteem, and personality traits such as aggression and difficulty in establishing interpersonal relationships, as well as the presence of addictions. Consequently, within the family environment, some risk factors stand out such as dysfunctionality, absence of the parental figure, thus the absence of norms and limits. Finally, it is considered that at a social level, passive leisure, school dropout, and Educational lag, increases risk situations for the adolescent.Item Generación de un sistema de indicadores con el enfoque del buen vivir en el cantón Pucará, provincia del Azuay, Ecuador, al año 2012(2014) Arias Pallaroso, Francisco Alexander; Phélan Casanova, Luis MauricioThe good living is a concept in process of construction which requires a simultaneous progress between its conceptualization and operationalization. The approximation for measurements of good living is part of what is called fourth generation of indicators, which are characterized for being multidimensional; they are complementary between the subjective and objective; they are territorially disaggregated and participatory built. They are issues that are at the center of current academic debate and in order to go holding fast, they require territorial operationalization, locally, and in the country. In this respect, the main objective of this study points to the Generation of a system of indicators with the approach of Good Living in the city of Pucará, Azuay Province, Ecuador in 2012. The system of indicators for the four planning zones of the canton Pucará was based on the rights mentioned in the Ecuadorian Constitution of 2008 and the National Plan for Good Living from 2013-2017, in the concepts expressed by authors related to this stream, and in priority factors for Good Living by the population. In addition Nussbaum approach was used to construct measures of capacity as an approach to Good Living. The main findings indicate an ideal of rural peasant Good Living in which access to social and economic rights is prioritized; high optimism that is far from the actual conditions; aspirations paradox is evident; political skills and vulnerable materials; territorial brokers of compliance of capabilities.Publication Informe ejecutivo de resultados del proyecto de investigación ¿por qué las víctimas no denuncian? For this purpose, a quantitative methodology was used through the application of a survey to the workers of the branches within the city of Cuenca. The scope of the researchis descriptive and correlational, and it is a non-experimental research. Descriptivestatistical analysis techniques (frequency and contingency tables) and inferential statistics (relational analysis) were applied. Regarding the conclusions, the data obtained in the study allow corroborating the startinghypothesis that in women there is a greater relationship between the work environment and work performance within the company, a higher percentage in relation to men, this has been made visible thanks to the intersectional approach of the study since it allows disaggregating the information by different variables such as sex. It has also demonstrated the importance of implementing policies with a gender approach because it allows us to eliminate latent gaps that are caused by generalizing the needs of employees.Item Participación social de las personas adultas mayores como un indicador del envejecimiento activo - 2022: parroquia La Asunción, cantón Girón, provincia del Azuay(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-03) Bernal Sarmiento, Orfa Yurelly; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderSocial participation is the exercise of all the rights of life, through interaction and activities in groups, centers, or social organizations, with the commitment to achieve common well-being and improvement. In this case, they are called older adults to those people from 65 years, and are those who belong to the priority care group, by the passage of certain general and particular changes that occur at this stage. The study seeks to analyze the social participation of older adults in the parish of La Asunción, Girón town in 2022 in relation to active aging. The research is mixed, with a descriptive scope, having a composition of the qualitative and quantitative method according to the objectives set. For this, a survey was implemented to the elderly of the parish La Asunción, with sections of social participation and social factors of active aging. Also, a structured interview is used with Social Work professionals who work in institutions of care and intervention for older adults, and the director of the University of Older Adults. In this context, it results, 95.9% do not belong to a social organization where their social participation is developed. In the part of the qualitative results, the Social Worker intervenes in relation to his functions of direct and indirect attention, involving social participation and social factors of active aging.Item Perfil socioeconómico de las personas que tejen sombreros de paja toquilla, que no se encuentran asociadas a una organización de toquilleras o toquilleros en la parroquia de Güel, cantón Sígsig, período 2022. Una mirada desde el enfoque del desarrollo a escala humana(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-07) Moscoso Moscoso, Christian Efraín; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderThe goal of this research was to determine the socio-economic and family profile of people who work weaving ‘paja toquilla’ hats and who are not members of an organization of ‘toquilleras’ or ‘toquilleros’, in the parroquia of Güel, canton of Sígsig, period 2022, based on the approach of Human Scale Development. For this purpose, 159 surveys were carried out, applying a simple random sampling to the study population. The research methodology was quantitative, and the research scope was exploratory, since this work was focused on a population that has not been studied previously. Furthermore, the approach was based on the Social Critic Work method. After analyzing the results obtained, the reasons why the weavers of ‘paja toquilla’ hats decide not to become members of a ‘toquilleras’ or ‘toquilleros’. The main reasons why people who weave toquilla straw hats do not join an organization of toquilleras and toquilleras are: lack of time, constant meetings and the demands made by the toquilleras' associations with regard to their requests. Finally, several action lines to improve the life quality of this population are suggested.Item Relación de las redes de apoyo con la adaptación al ámbito socioeducativo de los estudiantes en migración interna de la carrera de ingeniería automotriz de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, sede Cuenca, en el periodo 2024 - 2025(2025-02-27) Jiménez Mora, Andrely Deyanira; Loor Barahona, Lissette Vanessa; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderThe present work entitled “Relationship of support networks with the adaptation to the socio-educational environment of students in internal migration of the automotive engineering career of the Politecnica Salesiana University, Cuenca, in the period 2024 - 2025”, has as its main objective to analyze the relationship of support networks with the socio-educational adaptation of students in internal migration of the automotive engineering career of the Politecnica Salesiana University. The research has a quantitative approach, non-experimental design and correlational scope, the study was applied to students in internal migration through surveys with Likert scales, including the Academic Experiences Questionnaire in its reduced version. The results obtained reveal that primary networks, such as family and friends, are the most used, while secondary networks, such as institutional services, have less diffusion and accessibility. In addition, it was observed that as students advance in their academic cycle, they depend less on these networks and show greater independence. It is shown that, although support networks show a positive relationship with socio-educational adaptation, this connection is not consistent in all the dimensions evaluated.Item Violencia de género contra las mujeres en entornos familiares ejercida sobre estudiantes de Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Cuenca en el contexto pandémico Covid-19. Análisis desde el modelo ecológico.(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-02-14) Barbecho Patiño, Karen Andrea; Marquez Bonilla, Wilson Patricio; Arias Pallaroso, Francisco AlexanderThe gender-based violence is one of the most obvious human rights violations that entails a series of adverse consequences at the physical, psychological, social and family levels. Thus, during the period of mandatory confinement, at the beginning of the COVD19 pandemic in 2020 has forced students to be mostly indoors thanks to the biosecurity standards to prevent spread of the virus, suddenly switching to a virtual modality. Inside this context the main objective of this investigation is analyze since the ecologic model the cases of gender-based violence against women and their family context, with the purpose of propose strategies of prevention e intervention in Social Workers students from the University of Cuenca. This is qualitative research based on the hypothetical deductive method with a deep descriptive and correlational level. The instrument used for the recollection of valid data was a survey, the results were organized through the statistical program “SPSS” version 18 generating a descriptive statistical analysis of the types of violence and the dependence between the most relevant variables of the ecological theory in gender-based violence in students. The results obtained reflects the incidence of the levels of the Ecological theory in the gender-based violence in the student’s family’s context, emphasizing that a 25,25% of the students has suffered violence, expressed by physical aggressions (8.08%), psychological (25.25%), sexual (2,02%) and patrimonial (5.05%). These findings contribute to the creation of strategies for interventions from the Social Work Area for an adequate approach in a crisis context.
