Item Efectos de la segregación energética en la curva medioambiental de Kuznets. Un estudio para el caso Ecuatoriano(2019) Andrade Rojas, Gabriela Cristina; Sarmiento Jara, Juan Pablo; Roldán Monsalve, Diego Fernando; Ramón Tacuri, Diana VerónicaThis study examines the impact of energy-related economic variables on environmental degradation in Ecuador under the Kuznets Environmental Curve (EKC) approach. Information corresponding to the period 1980-2014 was used and a short term equation and a long term equation were estimated using the methodology proposed by Pesaran and Shin (1998), based on the autoregressive model of distributed lags (ARDL). The impact of electricity consumption from renewable sources, dry natural gas and oil consumption in per capita terms were analysed in relation to CO2 emissions from energy consumption. The results do not verify the EKC hypothesis, and it was found that energy consumption from renewable sources is not significant to explain emissions. Forecasts under the ARIMA methodology for 2025 indicate an increase in CO2 emissions from energy consumption in EcuadorItem Factores determinantes de mora en la cartera destinada a la unificación de deudas en las oficinas que componen el territorio Cañar de Cooperativa Jardín Azuayo(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas, 2025-10-21) Santander Orbe, Jorge Estives; Andrade Rojas, Gabriela CristinaThis research analyzes the factors influencing delinquency in consumer loans allocated for debt consolidation at Cooperativa Jardín Azuayo, Cañar territory, between 2021 and 2024. Using a logistic regression model applied to a population of 1 967 loans, significant variables were identified, including employment type, geographic location, education level, gender, membership seniority, income, liabilities, and net worth. The results indicate that public employment, stable income, and higher net worth serve as protective factors, whereas higher liabilities, urban location, and divorced marital status increase the risk of default. The study concludes that credit assessment should emphasize repayment capacity and financial stability, and proposes management strategies based on specialized scoring, proactive monitoring, and financial education to mitigate risk.Item Incidencia de los factores económicos e institucionales bajo el enfoque de la Curva Medioambiental de Kuznets (EKC): evidencia empírica para el Ecuador y América Latina(2018) Andrade Rojas, Gabriela Cristina; Ramón Tacuri, Diana Verónica; Roldán Monsalve, Diego FernandoThe purpose of this research is to determine the impact of institutional and economic variables on environmental degradation in Latin America and Ecuador, under the approach of the Kuznets Environmental Curve (EKC), through the analysis of two models. The first uses the Panel Cointegration approach, the Generalized Method of Moments and the Pooled Mean Group, for 16 countries in Latin America in the period 2002-2014; which tried to determine the impact of the institutional indicators on CO2 and the Ecological Footprint (HE). The results allowed us to verify the EKC hypothesis in the case of CO2 emissions as an indicator of environmental degradation, however, in the case of HE, this hypothesis is verified only when the institutional indicators are applied as a synthetic indicator. In both cases, the study indicated that countries are in the growth phase of the curve. The second model used the Cointegration methodology and is based on Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model, applied to Ecuador during the period of 1980-2014 in which the impact of economic variables related to energy was studied, on the CO2 emissions of energy. With these results, the EKC hypothesis is not verified for the Ecuadorian case, however, other findings were presented as the consumption of energy from renewable sources that was not significant for the model, possibly due to the recent implementation of efficient use of renewable energy policies. The forecasts for this model for the year 2025 indicate that there will be an increase in CO2 emissions from Ecuador.Item Institutional variables in the kuznets environmental curve: a study of Latin America(2022) Andrade Rojas, Gabriela Cristina; Sarmiento Jara, Juan Pablo; Roldán Monsalve, Diego Fernando; Ramón Tacuri, Diana VerónicaThe objective of this study is to determine the impact of institutional variables on environmental degradation in sixteen Latin American countries, measured by CO2 emissions and the change in the Ecological Footprint (EF), using the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) approach. Country panel data over the period 2002-2014 are used. The results confirm the EKC hypothesis when using CO2 emissions, and for the case of the HE it is verified only when institutional variables are introduced as a synthetic indicator. According to both models, we are far from the tipping point
