This research proposes a description of comments, ideas, experiences and needs that are evidenced throughout the mathematical education of adults of the Savia Nueva Foundation, also known as Promoción Social Integral del Austro (UPES), based on the analysis of the cognitive and affective dimensions of the Ontosemiotic Approach, with the intention of providing methodological strategies based on the reflection of the teaching practice, with reference to the study of linear equations with one unknown. Adult education is a challenge for the educational system, since the differentiation between children and adult learning must be considered, based on the counterpart of the social conversion referred to the need for a child to learn as such, encouraging to know the different educational challenges presented by adults and the different study modalities, with the help of tools that allow the mathematics teacher to elaborate activities, adaptations and strategies based on the reflections derived from daily practices. In this way, this research proposes to listen to the voices of these people to know their different experiences and cognitive errors that may occur when learning linear equations.
