    Análisis de factores sociales que permiten que las mujeres permanezcan en el ciclo de la violencia de género

    The present investigation was carried with the participation of women who have experienced situations of violence and who are now sheltered at "Casa Maria Amor". The aim of this study was understand the social factors that allow women to remain in circle of gender violence. Our objective was contribute with qualified information about the experiences these sheltered women have experienced of every-day life under violent circumstances. This is a qualitativestudy that used interviews and focus groups. Data was collected, transcribed, and analyzed by Atlas ti, version 6.2. The most relevant results show that women who have lived under violent circumstances during infancy may develop low self-esteem, a situation that expose them to become victims of violence and this affects to their intra/interpersonal relationships. The gender perspective seemed to build up important women´spoint of views about gender roles that grant equitable levels of social position both in men and women in society. Finally the stereotypes and prejudices were transmitted into the daily coexistence the same that would cause the increase of gender violence.

    La discriminación racial en la niñez media

    This research was conducted with the participation of boys and girls aged 7-11 years. They are students from the Hector Sempertegui School in the city of Cuenca. The purpose of the study was to identify racial discrimination in children of these ages. The research carried out is within the mixed qualitative-quantitative paradigm and was carried out with the authorization of their legal representatives. As a research tool, a structured interview was used, while safeguarding the identity of children, as validated in other research. Its application aimed to collect information necessary to meet the objectives. The information obtained was transcribed and analyzed using the Excel 2007 program. The most significant results point to a high level of racial preference, with less stereotypes and prejudices towards the white doll, while the black color allocated more prejudices and stereotypes.

    Espiritualidad y bienestar subjetivo en adultos mayores institucionalizados. Cañar 2016

    Life expectancy’s increase and Ecuador´s demographic transition, lead to the investigation of spirituality as a determinant factor in the subjective well-being of institutionalized older adults. The present quantitative, non-experimental descriptive cross-sectional study analyzes the spirituality and subjective well-being variables in 29 older adults of 3 almshouses in the province of Cañar using the WHOQOL-SRPB and the Diener’s life satisfaction scale. All participants claimed to practice Catholicism; and prevails a high level of spirituality and satisfaction with life. The most punctuated domains within the spirituality were Faith and Spiritual strength; and the less scored were Acceptance and Totality and integration. A high level of spirituality has positive effects on the elderly’s quality of life, which supports the use, consideration and respect of spirituality in clinical practice as a resource for offering well-being. Spirituality is considered a source of hope, comfort and well-being, religious beliefs provide strength to stressful events in the elderly institutionalized in gerontological centers in the Cañar province. The participating geriatric population is highly satisfied with their lives, which implies a high level of subjective well-being.

    Estrategias de resiliencia y convivencia de los refugiados colombianos radicados en la ciudad de Cuenca

    Coexistence involves a number of psychosocial factors that make social interaction complex, even more when we talk about two or more cultures in contact inside a same context. Our particular interest is the study of the strategies used by Colombian refugees in search of a proper integration to the environment in Cuenca, considering their migratory condition and how stressful it may have been it in their lives, in other words, we pretend to understand coexistence and resilience strategies used to face stressful situations, by those who were investigated. In our investigation we had the voluntary collaboration of seven Colombian refugees, living in our city. The information used for the analysis was obtained through deep interviews, its purpose is to know the reality from the participants interpretation, additionally, the participant observation was applied in the environments were they develop. Of what has been said, during the development of this document, the results of the research process are put into consideration of the reader.

    El facebook como una herramienta didáctica en el aprendizaje colaborativo de los adolescetes

    The objective of this document is to analyze the use that the adolescents give the social network Facebook, focusing mainly as a tool for collaborative learning, that is to say, the way such as young people are interrelated to each other; as share information, such as working in group and carry out collaborative work, this research is of bibliographic nature that has been performed using texts from the internet; with this vision has come to establish collaborative learning spaces, to strengthen the link teacher-student and student-student, through group work in this network social, this promotes the psychosocial development of adolescents and to fosters creativity, identity, competition, etc. Thus was created an account within the Facebook for teens to exchange information regarding the various issues that were raised.

    Factores que promueven la inmigración cubana hacia Cuenca y sus procesos de inserción en la sociedad receptora

    In this research we analyze the Cuban immigration to Cuenca - Ecuador and its integration processes. It was a study qualitative part through in-depth interviews; To understand the motivations of Cubans who decided to leave the island and settle in Cuenca, analyze their processes of adaptation and integration to the host society; And know the practices of reproduction of their identity. It was based on the method of discourse analysis, under the interpretative paradigm. It was found that this is a type of selective and qualified migration. In addition, it is evident that the main factor that promotes this type of migration was the public policy of promotion of professionals by the Cuban government; With the political counterpart of the Ecuadorian government, to attract qualified personnel in the areas of art, culture, medicine and sports. Economic motivation is always present in all cases. Other factors that promote migration are: migratory chains, political motivations and previous migratory experiences.

    Identificación de los niveles de sexting en adolescentes

    The purpose of this Project was to do an investigation in order to identify the levels of sexting on adolescents, men and women from 14 to 19 years old at the Educative Unit Octavio Cordero Palacios. This project has a quantitative approach, therefore this is a transversal, non-experimental investigation; with a descriptive, explorative scope since the subject of investigation has been barely studied. A sample of 345 students was taken, to whom a survey was applied, this survey was adapted based on the model: Sex and Tech” from “The National Campaign to prevent teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, September 25, 2008 and October 3, 2008; Author: “The National Campaign” performed by various authors. Our study showed a low level of incidence of sexting on adolescents, it also shows that the cellphone is the technological device mostly used by adolescents. It is also important to state that, risk behavior in adolescents who have contact online with unknown people. Moreover, a higher percentage of adolescents who receive suggestive messages was observed. By means of the obtained data, it was found that send, publish, share pictures and/or videos would mostly addressed to a boy/girlfriend as a seductive present in order to obtain the attention of a boy or a girl.

    Imagen corporal y trastornos alimenticios en mujeres artistas de escenario de la ciudad de Cuenca

    This research aims to analyze whether possible alterations of body image exist and which of them are the most frequent dietary behaviors in female stage artists of the city of Cuenca. The sample is composed of 40 actresses, 40 dancers and 20 models, having a total of 100 participants. The method of investigation was of quantitative approach, exploratory and descriptive scope to refer the studied variables. Two instruments were used to collect the information: the first one was the EDI 2 test that analyzes the possible eating disorders in the population and the second one was BSQ test that qualifies the alterations of the body image. Its results were processed and analyzed using the following programs: IBM SPSS Statistic version 23, and Excel 2016. Results: The population presents slight alterations, 34% of the population is above cut-off point. As for the most frequent dietary behaviors we found the fear of maturity with 65% of the population above average, followed by impulsivity with 45% and finally with then perfectionism with 40%. All these behaviors occur more frequently in the population of dancers, actresses and models of the city of Cuenca. Conclusions. This population presents neither eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, 34% of the population responds to alterations of the body image disorders. However, these artists demonstrated risky behaviors such as fear of maturity, impulsivity, perfectionism and interpersonal mistrust, which can lead a high risk for future alterations.

    Participación del Gremio de Tejidos Otavaleños en la toma de decisiones para la rehabilitación de la plaza San Francisco en la ciudad de Cuenca

    It is an investigation made with Otavaleños Woven Guild. The objective was to analyze the participation of the artisans of the Guild in the process of Rehabilitation of the Plaza San Francisco Cuenca, Ecuador. It is a descriptive study with a qualitative design where the documentary review and the in - depth interview were used to obtain data that were later analyzed using the Atlasti program. As a result, there is a legal framework for citizens' right to participate, but the actions developed to include craftsmen in the decision-making about the project's objectives and the final execution of the project are not a successful participation process. In conclusion, the spaces that have been opened for participation have been insufficient, many times the channels of communication used have not been available to all citizens. In addition, the Otavaleños have been limited in their right to participate, by self-perceptions of discrimination and rejection, delegation in the figure of their president and lack of agreements among them for lack of motivation or disinterest because of the uncertainty regarding the incidence of their opinions and suggestions the final decision of the rehabilitation project of the Plaza affecting its current and future situation.

    Prevalencia de tipos de trastornos de ansiedad en pacientes con trastornos por consumo de sustancias, Cuenca 2016

    This investigation had as a fundamental purpose to determine the prevalence of types of Anxiety Disorders in patients with Substance Use Disorder who went to Hospital Psiquiátrico Humberto Ugalde Camacho– Centro de Reposo y Adicciones (CRA) between April and December of 2016. It was performed a transversal - descriptive research with a quantitative approach, for which was applied the structured diagnostic interview MINI (mini international neuropsychiatric interview), which is used for exploring the main psychiatric diagnoses of the DSM - IV as well as the CIE 10. This study was realized out with 133 participants, most of them male, who attended to CRA in the form of internment, external consultation and/or support group Fénix. The results obtained show that patients with Substance Use Disorder have a prevalence of Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia.

    Soledad y aislamiento en adolescentes que usan redes sociales

    The purpose of this research was to identify levels of loneliness and isolation in 394 male and female adolescents between the ages of 15 and 18 who use social networks. The study was conducted with the population of the following educational institutions: "Unidad Educativa Turi" and "Colegio Técnico Industrial Ricaurte", which belong to the rural area of the Cuenca canton. This study maintained a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach, with a descriptive scope that allowed detailing the variables of the study object. The instruments used in the research were the solitude and isolation questionnaire (CAS) and the social network addiction questionnaire (ARS). The data collection was carried out in the educational institutions and their subsequent analysis in an SPSS matrix. The results show that most adolescents use social networks every day for at least one hour. Likewise, it was found that there is a high risk of addiction to social networks and low risk of presenting loneliness and isolation. In conclusion, it was shown that adolescents who presented a high risk of addiction to social networks also show a tendency towards loneliness

    Violencia en las relaciones de noviazgo de jóvenes universitarias

    Violence in dating relationships is an important topic because it existence as well as the consequences that this entails, we have only empirically; that is why our research arises from the need to obtain data that allow us to demonstrate a clear and objective reality. The main objective of this research is to characterize the violence in dating relationships in university students in the city of Cuenca; which will allow us closer to knowing this reality linked to gender violence and violence in general, while verifying how common these practices are in a relationship. The research developed model is within the quantitative paradigm, with exploratory and descriptive scope, the same that was executed in the urban area, at the institutional level, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cuenca. 224 women whose age was between 18 to 25 years were studied. The responses were recorded using a Likert scale measuring violent behavior in dating. Finally the answers were grouped into three types of events: physical violence, psychological violence and coercive and controlling behaviors. Finally we could conclude that violence, one way or another, is present in some of the dating relationships of university students, turning into a situation that should generate concern necessary and appropriate by the entities related to the topic of violence, because it constitutes a fundamental step in the socio-emotional development in humans, as a way to implement loving interactions that subsequently give rise to the formation of families, it is essential that they are as healthy as possible.
